| Today, I want to share with you photos of the Greek Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Yavoriv. Locals call it the Hill Church because it is situated on a hill above the river. This church was built in 2013 on the site of an old wooden church that, unfortunately, burned down. The loss of wooden churches is a significant problem for Lviv region and Ukraine in general, as they are part of our cultural heritage. However, despite the loss of the old church, the wooden bell tower built in the past century was preserved near the new church. And that is incredible! Such details allow us to feel a connection to history. We went inside with the children on Easter, even rang the bells – it was a very interesting and atmospheric moment. This church also holds special meaning for us – we baptized two of our children here. When we lived in Yavoriv, this was our home church, and even after moving away, it remains an important part of our family’s history. 📸 Sharing photos of this place that always brings back warm memories! | Сьогодні хочу поділитися з вами фотографіями греко-католицької церкви Успіння Пресвятої Богородиці в Яворові. Місцеві називають її Гірною церквою, бо вона розташована на пагорбі (на горі) над річкою. Цей храм звели у 2013 році на місці старої дерев’яної церкви, яка, на жаль, згоріла. Втрата дерев'яних церков – це велика проблема для Львівщини та України загалом, адже вони є частиною нашої культурної спадщини. Та попри втрату старого храму, біля нової церкви вдалося зберегти дерев’яну дзвіницю, збудовану ще в минулому столітті. І це неймовірно! Адже саме такі деталі дозволяють відчути зв’язок із історією. Ми з дітьми заходили всередину на Великдень, навіть дзвонили у дзвони – це була дуже цікава та атмосферна мить. А ще ця церква має для нас особливе значення – тут ми хрестили двох своїх дітей. Коли жили в Яворові, це був наш рідний храм, і навіть після переїзду він лишається важливою частиною нашої сімейної історії. 📸 Ділюся фотографіями цього місця, яке завжди викликає в мене теплі спогади! |
