JOHN 10:10:
NIV
This verse is part of a discourse where Jesus describes himself as the Good shepherd who cares for his sheep. In this particular verse, Jesus contrasts his role with that of the thief.
The thief represents anything that seems to harm, decieve, or lead astray. Jesus, on the other hand comes to offer abundant life to those who follow him. The "Thief" symbolizes various negative influences in our lives like sin, temptation, false ideologies and destructive behaviors. These elements aim to steal our joy, kill our dreams and ultimately destroy our spiritual well-being.
Jesus, as the Good shepherd, offers a counter to these destructive forces, he brings life in it's fullest sense, spiritual abundance, purpose, fulfillment, and eternal life.
