S18 Off-Season End: Gameplay and Achievements
Yesterday, November 10 was the start of season 19 for Axie Infinity's Arena. Once again it is time to climb the ranks and aim for AXS. New META Axies will once again appear and some balanced skills will be forgotten till another balancing or revamp occurs. For now, I made this brief recap of opponents that I thought were very strong last off season. Then I will also add the gameplay when I reached my highest ranking so far!
Speed Variant
Arena is hard but it gets more challenging with the rise of faster versions of old Axie Compositions. First up are Dusk Axies. Dusks became so popular due to their durability and speed. The class is like the version 2 of a Reptile Axie but made even better. As a Dusk Axie, it also reduces the damage it receives from Bird and Aqua Axies. Dusk Axies are built like reptiles. There are Termi Builds, Tri-spike midline builds and some are built as a frontline tank with plant cards. Here is a gameplay video of my opponent using a Dusk-Terminator:
Another speed variant that I have noticed were "Mech-Beasts". I refer to them using that term since Beast cards are usually used for Mech Axies. They are also better than Beast Axies due to their high speed. This makes fighting Reptiles and Dusks far easier for them. Popular builds I faced were Ronin-Imp(RIMP) mechs and Dual Blade-DoNut(Double Nutcracker). Here is a gameplay I had against one:
Highest Rank and Matches
For the very first time in my Axie gaming life, I have reached my all-time high of 2000 MMR! I might not be very high but I am very happy to reach this rank. This was all thanks to my relatively new Axie. I also hope to reach this rank once more in Season 19 but the recent patch made me doubt it due to the nerfs. Here is the match that got me to 2000 MMR:
Here is another match in the 2000 MMR rank. It’s a Double Anemone Axie! I love being matched with them since I have 80% chance to win against them. A big tip to win against them: using slow 2x will allow you to kill the “Immortal” double anemone Axie. If you do not have enough card to defeat them in a single round, it is better to skip the round. Unless you have 2 cards that can slow the opponent. Here is the gameplay:
