Hello there guys!
It's been almost a week since the MMR reset but I'm still struggling in between 1500-1600's. I noticed that there are too many terminator users nowadays. And we're quite unlucky because we often encounter really fast termi's in the arena, like those reptiles with 42 speed. Sometimes we even see some dusk termis with 46 speed. I mean, what the heck these are teams we often see in 1800-1900, are they struggling just like me? Our win rate is average as ever. For this week we're very close to 50% win rate, so that's about 180-200 SLP daily. Crossed fingers let's hope that SLP don't go below $0.06 this time. It's good that the breeding issues are now addressed but would be cool if they introduce another burning mechanism. Maybe, in the next update? Anyways, let's just grind our way to victory. XD
For today, we have a classic match against a Bird-Beast-Plant team. This was a fast match because they failed to divert our attacks using 'Egg Bomb'. Actually, we had a pretty good early draw so the momentum just snowballed in our favor along the way. The main star for this fight is our reptile's 'Catapult' which pretty much demolished them in midgame. Another game we have was against a standard Aqua-Beast-Plant team. This was quite a pain because their beast was positioned at the back so we needed to be very fast to demolish their front and mid to expose that beast. I know that you are getting bored because of too much text in this intro. Haha! Let's go to the main event of this entry.
Double Catapult = 100% Range Reflect
What we did here was pretty basic for our first turn. We played a 'Cactus' and a 'Luna Absorb' from our backline. We were left with 2 energy so this would be pretty bad if the opponent had something like a 'Double Serious' but thankfully they did not and just passed, so we gained an energy and managed to deal some decent damage courtesy of 'Cactus'. It seemed like they were completing their beast cards to make a combo later on but this would be a fatal mistake on their side.
'Soothing Song' was something to watch out because no matter how high our shield the damage would just bypass the armor. If chained with a beast card then that would be very painful even if we defended with 'Pumpkin'. We managed to steal 2 energy from them with 'Double Serious'. In round 3 we read them pretty well as they put 'Double Pumpkin' and we passed even with lots of energy. We were actually, waiting for an 'Ill-omened' to show up. Even if we opened up their mid by killing their tank it would be useless if we did nothing against the crit from the beast. So we have to wait or at least be sure that there would be an 'Ill-omened' to negate the crit later on.
In round 4, we knew that our tank would go down. But there was a chance that they would sacrifice their bird at the back by diverting our attacks using 'Egg Bomb' so we opted to use 'Double Kotaro' just in case to gain additional energy for the next round. They took down our tank without diversions which made things easier. Although we did not gain any energy we managed to expose their midline beast. It's already round 5, playing 'Tiny Dino' would be ideal for an additional damage but we went with 'Double Catapult'+'Bone Sail' instead.
Because of 'Acro' our backline gained speed advantage over the beast. We played an 'Ill-omened'+'Double YSS' to negate the crit and did some significant damage. Negating the crit was very important to preserve our mid, else it would be disastrous because 'Ronin' would do 194 damage if combo-ed with 2 other cards and 'Nut Crack' combo deals 330 damage with just two cards, so that's around 520 damage just with 3 cards from their beast. Because of 'Ill-omened' we reduced that 194 damage to half. Their beast was left with 105 health after we attacked them from our backline. 'Catapult' reflects 50%of range attack and we played two of them this round. It's a pity that the bird only played one card but in the case of the beast they died after they played 'Nut Throw'. Their 105 remaining hp could not sustain the 165 reflected damage. Finally, we were able to kill the bird with 3 cards from our reptile. Thanks to 'Double Catapult' our life became easier in this battle.
The Faster, The Better
Now were up against an Aqua-Beast-Plant line up. We're not really worried about that aqua with watermelon but the beast at the back was worrying as we had to demolish the front and the really fast to pave a way. The plant have 'Dull Grip' which would be painful for our front because we use armor most of the time. In round 1, they went all-out with 'Double Ronin'+'Ivory Stab'. Thankfully, we had 'Pumpkin' to let us barely survive that first round barrage. We also dealt some damage with 'Acro' and stole an energy from them. It was not a very good trade but still better than nothing.
Round 2 was risky. They could have demolish the tank with 2 cards from their mid but we gambled and played 'Cactus' to deal some damage in case they pass. And they really did pass, we also played 'Luna Absorb' to gain an energy. They've been passive in rounds 3 and 4. In round 4, they just played 'Pumpkin+Cattail' which was a waste because we took them down with 5 cards spread over our team. Things could be different if they chose to take down our plant in this round though, as their plant would still be alive because the damage from our 'Carrot' won't go through.
They had lots of card in their midline aqua but the problem was that they didn't defend, so it was ruthlessly killed by our midline reptile with a 4 card combo. We knew that we would not be able to kill the beast in round 6. What we did was to sacrifice our reptile and played 'Acro'+'Luna Absorb'+'YSS' from our backline. We could have chosen to add 'Ill-omened' but we needed to preserve our cards just to make sure we barrage them with most damage we could in the next round. We would have exactly 4 energy so we chose to play 'Double Acro'+'Double Ill-omened'. I think we could have positioned the cards better to prevent that last stand but since we have full health and we already deprived them the ability to crit it's just as good as it is. They still managed to hit us with 'Ronin' but that was the end of it. Things could have been different if they were faster than us but since we had speed on our side we won this battle. Against beasts, the faster we are the higher our chances of winning.
And that's all for today!
Thank you very much for bearing with me.
See you soon.
Ciao~
