There was a surprising amount of drama after last weekend's Axie Infinity ban wave by Sky Mavis.
These bans happen from time to time and of course some people get upset when their axies are banned, but usually there isn't drama because the bans are for good reasons.
Apparently this weekend was different, some of the bans really were innocent Axies. Sky Mavis has rolled back those bans and reduced the ban time to 90 days for other cases.
Is Sky Mavis Doing a Good Job?
I think Sky Mavis is doing a pretty good job moderating the Axie world so far.
This one was a big mistake for sure but at least they rolled back the bans quickly. I was surprised they reduced ban terms to only 90 days for some (or is it all?) of the axies that were affected. Leniency in the multiaccounting rules has been rare so this was a pretty big compromise.
Nonetheless this is a good example of why the community needs to look out for each other and we shouldn't immediately dismiss allegations of innocent bans, especially not from long-time community members in good standing.
