While my kids were in Mexico last week on holiday they went to Villa Santa Cruz Stables for my daughterinlaw's first horseback ride. She absolutely loved it! The stable, located about 5 miles north of Todos Santos in Baja California Sur, offers several guided experiences, including sunrise rides, sunset beach treks and mountain trail adventures.
The horses are described by the stables as "beautiful" and "skilled," handled by expert local vaqueros (cowboys).
. Victor, the cowboy, actually had a broken leg or something going on with his leg that was lost in translation, and couldn't make it out on the ride, so his wife was the guide. She was a really sweet young Mexican woman (wearing red) and made the ride feel safe and fun.
And because these are my kids we are talking about, there are several Shadow Photos taken during the ride... They deserve to be shared in a seperate post!
The horses were both rescues. The one Ella (wearing white) rode was a 15-year-old named Güerito, and my son rode a 6-year-old named Burrito.

The "golden hour" rides are a popular experience that departs just before sundown, that take you across untouched beaches and through desert arroyos, and across open dunes as the sun sinks into the Pacific. It was a great time for taking photos!
The whole experience was very memorable for them,
