In a shopping mall in Malaysia, and I grabbed a coffee.
Everything blue has infiltrated my mind. Not hard to see that the branding colour is blue.
If you don't believe in it, scroll down the entire post.
Do you agree that that blue is the branding colour? I quite like the blue branding. It departs from the green branding that Starbucks has been using.
Next question. How many brands are there in this story?
Did you say ONE? Or did you say TWO?
If you said ONE, that is incorrect! There are actually two brands.
ZUS COFFEE and GIGI COFFEE.
The differentiation one brand is trying to make against Starbucks by adopting blue is kind of successful. When there are two brands using the same colour selling coffee in the market, it kinds of strengthen the collective contest against Starbucks.
In a way, one could be seeing more blue when looking for coffee rather than green.
Between the two brands, however, it is hard for the un-initiated to differentiate. But that is not a big problem, I am sure consumers will make their choice after trying the two brands, and distinguishing one from another is not that hard.
If I were to enter the market, I would try GUZI COFFEE as a brand. And yes, I will keep it blue!
