Hola querido hiver.
Como en medio mundo al llegar esta época del año, Zaragoza (España) se viste de Navidad. Hoy te invito a que me acompañes a dar un paseo muy especial: un recorrido por el Belén de Judea.
Se trata de un espectacular montaje de unos mil metros cuadrados, a tamaño natural. Cada año crece en complejidad y se diseña de formas diferentes. ¿Me acompañas a ver el de esta edición?
Entramos por la puerta flanqueada por dos torres almenadas y que guarda un soldado romano, cuya punta de lanza puedes ver en la parte derecha del arco. ¡Vaya susto me dio! Y eso que no se mueve...
Menos mal que una de las primeras figuras que encontramos en ese simpático conejito.
Caminamos por un camino de losas de piedra y en el recorrido encontramos escenas que representan los diversos oficios que se ejercían en la época del nacimiento de Jesucristo.
Mercaderes, alfareros, curtidores de pieles, herreros... algunos incluso se acompañan de los sonidos típicos de estas actividades.
El camino forma una gran S que serpentea por las diferentes escenas. Aquí ya hemos alcanzado el primer recodo.
Nos encontramos en este punto con el Ángel Anunciador que despierta a los pastores dándoles la Buena Nueva.
Seguimos en paralelo al riachuelo artificial, donde llama la atención esta lavandera.
Cruzamos el puente de madera y desde ahí podemos ver de nuevo la puerta por la que entramos y un plano diferente de la noria y del primer tramo del sendero.
Siguen saliendo al paso figuras a diferentes alturas. El estar a los pies de la Basílica del Pilar confiere al conjunto un aspecto solemne.
Y llegamos, por fin, al Nacimiento. La escena más importante y más antigua de todas, pues los inicios de este montaje fueron estos pocos elementos que contemplamos. Con el paso de los años se ha añadido el resto, de ahí esa constante innovación que señalaba al principio.
La Estrella de Belén y un cielo simulado de estrellas iluminan la fachada principal del templo del Pilar, destacando el centro de las miradas. Tampoco faltan los tres Reyes Magos que se acercan al portal para entregar sus regalos.

Like half the world at this time of the year, Zaragoza (Spain) is dressed up for Christmas. Today I invite you to join me for a very special walk: a tour of the Bethlehem of Judea.
It is a spectacular life-size display of about a thousand square metres. Each year it grows in complexity and is designed in different ways. Will you join me to see this year's edition?
We enter through the gate flanked by two crenellated towers and guarded by a Roman soldier, whose spearhead you can see on the right side of the arch. What a scare he gave me! And he doesn't move...
Fortunately, one of the first figures we found in this cute little bunny.
We walk along a path of stone slabs and along the way we find scenes representing the various trades that were carried out at the time of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Merchants, potters, leather tanners, blacksmiths... some are even accompanied by the typical sounds of these activities.
The path forms a large S that winds through the different scenes. Here we have already reached the first bend.
At this point we meet the Angel Proclaimer who awakens the shepherds and tells them the Good News.
We continue parallel to the artificial stream, where this washerwoman stands out.
We cross the wooden bridge and from there we can see again the gate through which we entered and a different view of the waterwheel and the first section of the path.
Figures continue to emerge at different heights. Being at the foot of the Basilica del Pilar gives the whole a solemn aspect.
And finally we come to the Nativity scene. The most important and oldest scene of all, since the beginnings of this montage were these few elements that we are contemplating. Over the years the rest has been added, hence the constant innovation I mentioned at the beginning.
The Star of Bethlehem and a simulated starry sky illuminate the main facade of the church of El Pilar, highlighting the centre of attention. There is also no lack of the three Wise Men who come to the portal to deliver their gifts.
