White isn't a color but its behind every other color. I love white, and all colors with a good amount of white in them namely pastel shades. The purity of white, the scintillating brightness and the background it provides for some objects makes it the unnoticed hero of the scene. These pearls here are among my most worn jewelry. These came with a set of earrings as well. These were a gift from my husband many, many, many moons ago. I am sure you can see the years of wear and tear on these pearls.
These frangipani or plumerias evoke happy memories of my childhood. I used to love going to school just because of these frangipani trees that were there. I used to play with these lovely white flowers tucking them into my hair just behind my ears so I could enjoy their fragrance all day long. I have often been pulled up for wearing these flowers in school, hehe.
This cactus bloom is one of the most delicate ones in my garden. It blooms quite early in the day and stays open for a few hours only. With the rising of the sun it fades away. It has the most delicate fragrance and attracts this blue bee. This is one of my favorite shots of the flower and the bee.
This amazon lily is somehow linked with pain and loss. The first time it bloomed in my garden was when my friend passed on. I got the news from my son while I was smelling these flowers. It always brings back memories of my sweet, kind and wonderful friend each time it blooms.
These are ridge gourd flowers, I love the way they look. The thin gossamer like things (I used the word things for want of a better word) on the flowers gives it a strange look. They do have a strong smell which isn't very pleasing to the senses.
This ixora bloom was a part of my bonsai collection. I lost this beautiful bush when we moved homes. These tiny flowers attract a lot of bees. I love the fact that they last really long and look so pretty.
This white dahlia took my breath away. I photographed it from all angles. I found this in the park, there were other dahlias in so many colors but this white caught my eye and crept into my heart.
These day lilies were blooming in my friends garden. They have a strong scent and attract a lot of insects.
White anthuriums look amazing in the garden. They kind of draw the eyes of people passing by. They are simple heart shaped flowers that seem to last forever.
This is one of the pictures I took in the aero-show this year. It was our 32 anniversary and the hubs and I had a great time watching the aerobatics the pilots did in the sky. I look forward to the next aero show. I just can't have enough of this, I did get a whole bunch of stunning photographs from this show.
This is a white passion flower, a wild variety which we find normally on our walks in the morning. I love the colors here.
This is an image of the painted stork. These guys have painted the rock white with their poop LOL. This photo was taken recently during my morning walks around the lake.
This moss rose is my last image for the brilliant white post. The white petals provides the perfect background for these beautiful pollen in the middle. I love these flowers and I miss them a lot. They suddenly disappeared from my garden one season. This is my submission for the white contest by the photo essay. I just found about about this yesterday and I am thrilled to send in my submission.
