As the title says we are maried for 35 years last Sunday was our anniversary, for more info about that see my post from last Saturday :
@stresskiller/my-35th-anniversary
Well we both don't really like to party or celebrate birthdays, so we went to a museum instead just the two of us .
We purchased a Museum card , that gives you acces to almost every museum in my country for a whole year , so we will be visiting more musea soon .
But we started with a museum nearby in an area where we also surched for housing 2 years ago before we moved here .
It's an area next to one of our old airforce bases Soesterberg.
They turned the old airforce base in a nature reserve as you can see here :
https://www.utrechtslandschap.nl/gebied/natuur/park-vliegbasis-soesterberg
On that old air force base they have build a new museum called "Nationaal Militair Museum " one of our National Military Museum .
1 )

Why a visit military museum ?
Well we both have never served in the army and with all the news about war in the world , where better to go to learn and understand some more about the materials being used then a museum.
2 ) Leopard 1V tank at the front door

It's the first time since a very long time that i've visited a museum , and was wondering what condition i would come across when taking photos, so to play things a little bit safe i used the automatic mode and let the camera do the thinking so that i can go home and look at the images to see if and how i would change things .
3 ) An impression of the light conditions ..

So these are not perfect images but a learning curve for me , things that troubled the moste are :
Backlights As you can see the museum is one big box made out of glass letting in sunlight from every corner , causing either underexposed or over exposed images , but nothing you can't correct in your digital darkroom .
Reflections so many shiny surfaces reflecting light that has convinced me that i need to purchase a polarisation filter ASAP .
it will make it a lot easier to take photos of shiny objects but also from items behind glass.People getting in the way i do remeber a period when people would wait to move when you held a camera in those kind of places , but these days they really don't give a fuck anymore and just walk in front of the camera
Control of light Unlike my Macro photography these are objects you can't just light up the way you would like the subjects are to big for using flash lights and you don't have an army of people with you to hold light reflectors to light up dark spaces. And the museum is also using their own way of lighting up the subjects.
4 ) F16 side view

5 ) F16 rear view

6 ) F16 front view . It's impossible to get the subject isolated in the photo , unless you are going to spend either ours in photoshop , or as some people do these days ask an AI to isolate it for you in the photo .

7 ) Multiple jetfighters hanging from the ceiling

8 ) They were hanging on multiple steel cables , this one is on the F15 that was hanging behinf the F16 .

9 ) The cockpit of the F15

10 ) Some Anti aircraft guns displayed behind the F16 on the groundlevel.

11 ) But there is more here then just modern military tools , they have a nice collection of Uniforms from the past and matching weapons.

12 ) The old unforms behind glass from a period 1795 - 1839
This is typical a photo that could have been much better with the use of a Polarizer filter .
For more info about polarizer : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarizer

13 ) The polarizer filter would have reduced the reflections in the glass a lot .

14 ) It's hard to imagine that people would feel protective with this kind of armor , the weight will slow you down.

Moving on in the time line 1945- 1989 Cold war period ...
