I can't even explain how exciting it was to finally arrive in Spain. Last time I was on the continent I was in my early 30s. Due to COVID, and various life circumstances, we hadn't had chance to come back.
Let alone driving the Series! She did well climbing the hills out of Santander. We weren't going to drive too far, just an hour or so to a caravan park by a lake. I wanted to wild camp but Jamie was right - it'd be much easier to have the very first night in the Landie somewhere we knew was safe, and with toilets and showers.
We were so excited to make it we had our first beer of the year. Dos cervevas por favour!!!
The cooker worked a treat (you might recall us reconditioning this) and we had sauteed rice with veg for tea.
We had a little walk to the lake which was gorgeous, with snow capped mountains in the background. The weather was warm but the temperature was going to drop fast.
At last we could make our beds and enjoy our first night in Butters. Jamie's bed is upstairs and mine is down! It was super comfy and I still can't believe how well our systems worked. I guess that's what planning will do hey?
With Love,
