Apreciados amigos de #hive, y comunidad de C/Pétalos. Es oportuno visitar esta bella comunidad, en vista de que se trata de postear imágenes de las flores mas bellas vistas. Siento que debo compartir esta hermosura de especies, que he disfrutado en el país que dió su mano a mis hijos. De momento les mostraré tres ejemplares que me impresionaron por su belleza.
Dear friends of #hive, and C/Pétalos community. It is appropriate to visit this beautiful community, since it is about posting images of the most beautiful flowers seen. I feel I must share these beautiful species, which I have enjoyed in the country that gave its hand to my children. For the moment I will show you three specimens that impressed me for their beauty.
Esta primera flor, me impresionó porque cuando iba caminando cerca de casa, noté que provenían de un gran Arbol. Me sorprendí pues son muy parecidas, si no idénticas a los lirios que son unos bulbos. Es llamada "Chorisia Speciosa" y popularmente; Palo Borracho, Árbol Botella (Por su la forma de su tronco) , Árbol de Lana , (Por su tronco espinoso, se rascan ciertos animales dejando parte de su pelaje lanoso), Palo rosado o Samohu.
Su origen es Americano de Brasil y Argentina. De la familia Bombacaceas. La palabra Speciosa significa bella, magnífica. Ese árbol es utilizado para adornar espacios urbanos. El sector donde viven mis hijos, Avellaneda Buenos Aires, está sembrado de ellos en las aceras.

This first flower, impressed me because when I was walking near home, I noticed that they came from a large tree. I was surprised because they are very similar, if not identical to lilies which are bulbs. It is called "Chorisia Speciosa" and popularly; Palo Borracho, Bottle Tree (Because of the shape of its trunk), Wool Tree, (Because of its thorny trunk, certain animals scratch themselves leaving part of their woolly fur), Palo rosado or Samohu.
Its origin is American from Brazil and Argentina. It belongs to the Bombacaceae family. The word Speciosa means beautiful, magnificent. This tree is used to decorate urban spaces. The area where my children live, Avellaneda Buenos Aires, is planted with them on the sidewalks.
Aunque parezca mentira, esa tarde al finalizar nuestra acostumbrada caminata para ir al Parque, justo frente a una casa en la acera, me encontré con este ramillete inmenso de Azucenas o lirios blancos como la llamamos en Venezuela comunmente. Aunque muy similar a su nombre científico Lilium.
Sus tallos son erectos , sus hojas largas y crecen a partir de bulbos. Estas flores me recuerdan momentos de la vida como bodas, bautizos , y hasta las despedidas a nuestros difuntos. Ello se debe a ese color blanco prístino. Aunque existen más de cien especies y de colores muy variados y hermosos a la vista, que también se usan para decorar las bodas, cumpleaños, etc.

Believe it or not, that afternoon at the end of our usual walk to go to the Park, right in front of a house on the sidewalk, I found this huge bouquet of lilies or white lilies as we call it in Venezuela commonly. Although very similar to its scientific name Lilium.
Their stems are erect, their leaves are long and they grow from bulbs. These flowers remind me of moments in life such as weddings, baptisms, and even farewells to our deceased. This is due to their pristine white color. Although there are more than a hundred species and of very varied and beautiful colors to the eye, which are also used to decorate weddings, birthdays, etc..
Cuando llegamos al Parque de Avellaneda, nuestro destino esa tarde, al cruzar la avenida, en una esquina estaban sembrados unos Geranios. Como observan en la foto inferior, los había de varios colores, púrpura, rosados, naranja y vino tinto. El sol aún a las siete pm , estaba brillante por cierto.
Estas flores, pertenecen a la familia Geraniacae. Existen unas 200 especies se consideran perennes, suculentas y herbáceas.
Como información preventiva, los geranios son plantas tóxicas para los gatos y los perros. Según ASPCA

When we arrived at Avellaneda Park, our destination that afternoon, as we crossed the avenue, on one corner were planted some Geraniums. As you can see in the photo below, they were of various colors, purple, pink, orange and red wine. The sun, even at seven pm, was bright by the way.
These flowers belong to the Geraniacae family. There are about 200 species are considered perennial, succulent and herbaceous.
As a precautionary information, geraniums are toxic plants for cats and dogs. According to ASPCA
