Once upon a time there was a rose that was proud of its beautiful appearance. Her only frustration was that she grew up beside the ugly cactus. Every day, the rose would insult the cactus with its appearance, but the cactus would remain silent. All the other plants in the garden tried to impress the rose, but he was very impressed with her own good looks.
One summer, the well in the garden dried up and there was no water for the trees. The rose began to fade. He saw a sparrow dipping its beak into a cactus and trying to drink water. Embarrassed, he asked the cactus if he could get some water. Kindly Cactus readily agreed and they both went through a difficult summer as friends.
Story parable:
Do not judge anyone by appearance.
