TINY BUT BRAVE
PICCOLO MA CORAGGIOSO
The black redstart is a small passerine which during the hot season (from spring to the end of summer) can be observed in Europe and then overwintered in North Africa. Its related species, if not the same except for a slightly lighter color, is the common redstart. Characteristic is the plumage of the tail, of a beautiful bright red-orange.
Each year, a family of black redstart settles in an old vent placed on a wall near where they live and nest. It has been happening for several years now and we can observe a great coming and going and a continuous chirping with its typical "tic tic". Very special thing this cute little bird is not afraid of large threats. We often happen to be able to observe it from very close, perhaps even from two to three meters! We can't wait to meet the nice family again!

Il codirosso spazzacamino è un piccolo passeriforme che durante la stagione calda (dalla primavera fino alla fine dell'estate) può essere osservato in Europa per poi svernare nel Nord Africa. Sua specie affine, per non dire uguale salvo una colorazione leggermente più chiara, è il codirosso comune. Caratteristico è il piumaggio della coda, di un bel rosso-arancio acceso.
Ogni anno, una famiglia di codirossi, si piazza in un vecchio sfiato posto su un muro vicino a dove abito e nidifica. Sono ormai diversi anni che capita e possiamo osservare un gran andirivieni e un continuo cinguettare con il suo tipico "tic tic". Cosa molto particolare questo simpatico uccellino non teme minacce di grandi dimensioni. A noi capita spesso di poterlo osservare da molto vicino, forse anche da due-tre metri! Non vediamo l'ora di poter incontrare di nuovo la simpatica famiglia!
