Hello everyone, the drawing that I present to you today has as its protagonist a samurai who trains in a bamboo forest. To make this digital illustration I was inspired by some samurai-themed movies I've seen in the last few days. This thing happens a lot, in fact it is not uncommon for my illustrations to be inspired by what I happen to see or read.
This illustration was made entirely with the Illustrator program, as often happens for this type of illustration I have simplified as much as possible all the lines that make up the design, trying to make it as minimal as possible. Then I placed lights and shadows with a strong chromatic contrast, in order to increase and decrease the various thicknesses.

The samurai was drawn from scratch, inspired by a photo, while the bamboo forest is partly a written image.
Of course I went to customize the background to my needs. I wanted to add white lines in the foreground, which symbolize the movement and cutting of the sword blades.
During the coloring phase I wanted to play with light colors for the lights and shadows, and use very few colors for everything else. To a beautiful color I have to superimpose a very particular decisive shade, which simulates an effect similar to the fog that can be found in the early morning in the woods, a color that conveys a feeling of tranquility but also of mystery.
Also with this work I enjoyed creating some color variations which you can see below.

As often happens, when I create alternative colors I like to exaggerate, creating surreal and particular chromatic compositions.

Ciao a tutti, il disegno che vi presento oggi ha come protagonista un samurai che si allena in una foresta di bambù. Per realizzare questa illustrazione digitale mi sono lasciato ispirare da alcuni film a tema samurai che ho visto negli ultimi giorni. Questa cosa succede molto spesso, infatti non è raro che le mie illustrazioni siano ispirate a ciò che mi capita di vedere o leggere.
Questa illustrazione è stata realizzata interamente in vettoriale con il programma Illustrator, come spesso accade per questo tipo di illustrazioni ho semplificato al massimo tutte le linee che compongono il disegno, cercando di renderlo il più minimale possibile. Poi ho posizionato luci ed ombre con un forte contrasto cromatico, così da aumentare e diminuire i vari spessori.

Il samurai è stato disegnato partendo da zero, ispirandomi ad una foto, mentre la foresta di bambù è in parte un'immagine acquistata.
Ovviamente sono andato a personalizzare lo sfondo in base alle mie necessità. Ho voluto aggiungere delle linee bianche in primo piano, le quali simboleggiano il movimento e il taglio delle lama della spada.
Durante la fase di colorazione ho voluto giocare con colori netti per le luci e le ombre, ed utilizzare pochissimi colori per tutto il resto. A fine colorazione ho deciso di sovrapporre una sfumatura molto particolare, la quale simulasse un effetto simile alla nebbia che si può percepire al mattino presto nei boschi, una colorazione che trasmette una senzszione di tranquillità ma anche di mistero.
Anche con questa opera mi sono divertito a creare alcune varianti a colori che puoi vedere qui di seguito.

Come spesso accade, quando creo delle colorazioni alternative mi piace esagerare, andando a creare delle composizioni cromatiche surreali e particolari.
