Il castello di Scutari, che prende il nome da Rozafa è un monumento millenario eretto su una collina rocciosa all'ingresso della città di Scutari, a sud-est. Si trova a 130 metri sul livello del mare, circondato dal fiume Buna e Drin, con una superficie di quasi 9 ettari.
Questo castello è il simbolo della città di Scutari. Lo troverete sugli dipinti. Ha aiutato gli eserciti albanesi a proteggersi dai nemici sin dai tempi antichi. Il monumento è gestito dallo stato ed è spesso utilizzato per videoclip, matrimoni e molte attività importanti, oggi.

È servito come roccaforte per l'osservazione, quando eserciti degli nemici attaccavano il paese, ma la sua storia si riferisce al destino di una bella donna che fu murata per salvare le mura, secondo la leggenda. Se ne parla dal 1200. Io ho sentito storie simili anche per altri castelli siminili a quello di Rozafa, nella nostra regione, come per ex., in Romania.

Questo è accaduto durante le conversazioni che ho avuto con i miei colleghi all'estero. Insomma la leggenda vuole che al tempo della conquista ottomana, tre fratelle stavano costruendo il castello, ma le sue mura crollavano di notte, mentre le costruivano di giorno.
Un vecchio gli disse che i muri avevano bisogno di un sacrificio e che la donna che avrebbe portato il cibo il giorno dopo doveva essere murata. I due fratelli maggiori avevano avvertito le loro mogli di non venire mentre il più giovane ha mantenuto la sua parola e non ha detto niente a sua moglie, che era anche madre di un bimbo. La terza sposa, la più giovane delle tre nuore venne il giorno successivo a portare il pranzo agli tre fratelli, e cosi lei fu murata. Questa è una leggenda che, come ho detto, simile ad altri paesi della regione.

Dalla sua posizione, il colle è stato abitato fin dall'antichità. Era un centro fortificato illirico e fu conquistato dai romani nel 168 a.C.
Il castello fu una volta conquistato dagli Ottomani nel 1392. Gli Ottomani fecero un regalo a Balsha (principe albanese), ringraziato dal Sultano Murat II perché aveva mandato una bellissima ragazza all'harem. Balsha cedette la città alla Repubblica di Venezia, periodo in cui furono eseguiti lavori di fortificazione e fu costruita la Barbakania negli anni 1407-1414. L'intero complesso d'ingresso fu completato nel 1468.
L'ingresso principale del castello è da nord-est. All'interno del castello sono presenti diversi ambienti collegati da una torre cilindrica, un magazzino e un edificio a tre piani di epoca veneziana, denominato Capitanato. Il secondo cortile nella parte centrale presenta quattro vasche di raccolta dell'acqua, quadrangolari coperti da archi, da cui l'acqua veniva prelevata attraverso le bocche di pozzi circolari. C'è un magazzino, una prigione e la Moschea Fatih.

Il castello di Rozafa è molto bello veramente, ma non è il castello più bello dell Albania. Se andrete, a Scutari sicuramente lo dovete vedere da vicino questo castello. Potete fare bellissime foto e video, ma ricordo anche che l'Albania ha tanti altri bellissimi posto e castelli da vedere. Uno di quelli e il castello di Berat. Voglio scrivere di questo posto domani. Secondo me, è il castello più bello du tutta l'Albania.

The castle of Shkodra, which takes its name from Rozafa is a thousand-year-old monument erected on a rocky hill at the entrance to the city of Shkoder, to the southeast. It has been talked about since 1200. I have heard similar stories also for other castles similar to that of Rozafa, in our region, as for ex., In Romania.

This happened during the conversations I had with my colleagues abroad. In short, legend has it that at the time of the Ottoman conquest, three brothers were building the castle, but its walls collapsed at night, while they built them during the day. An old man told him that the walls needed a sacrifice and that the woman who would bring the food the next day had to be bricked up. The two older brothers had warned their wives not to come while the younger one kept his word and said nothing to his wife, who was also the mother of a child. The third bride, the youngest of the three daughters-in-law came the next day to bring lunch to the three brothers, and so she was bricked up. This is a legend that, as I said, similar to other countries in the region.

From its position, the hill has been inhabited since ancient times. It was an Illyrian fortified center and was conquered by the Romans in 168 BC. The castle was once conquered by the Ottomans in 1392. The Ottomans gave a gift to Balsha (Albanian prince), thanked by Sultan Murat II because he had sent a beautiful girl to the harem. Balsha ceded the city to the Republic of Venice, a period in which fortification works were carried out and Barbakania was built in the years 1407-1414. The entire entrance complex was completed in 1468. The main entrance to the castle is from the north-east. Inside the castle there are several rooms connected by a cylindrical tower, a warehouse and a three-storey building from the Venetian era, called Capitanato. The second courtyard in the central part has four quadrangular water collection tanks covered by arches, from which the water was drawn through the mouths of circular wells. There is a warehouse, a prison and the Fatih Mosque.

Rozafa Castle is very beautiful indeed, but it is not the most beautiful castle in Albania. If you go to Shkodra you must definitely see this castle up close. You can take beautiful photos and videos, but I also remember that Albania has many other beautiful places and castles to see. One of those is the castle of Berat. I want to write about this place tomorrow. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful castle in all of Albania.
