Ahh! I feel like things are about to get more serious already because adulting is real!!! Life is getting real for me I want to go back to being a baby but as a man, life is not easy for us and it is cruel. Everything is just getting more serious and it involves me taking heavy action and making a tough decision.
Adulting is an important phase in life that comes with challenges and rewards. So many have transitioned into adulting and some are just transitioning into adulting. As we transition into adulthood, we face different responsibilities that can be overwhelming. From managing finances to balancing personal relationships. In this era, adulthood is not always by age because some people have transition to an adult when they are very young, you can be old but might not want to grow up.
Adulthood is a very big ride full of unexpected turns and twists. One minute you are celebrating your independence, and the next minute you are crying. To be honest, adulting is hard! It is just like when you are being thrown into a pool and you do not know how to swim. You just flap around, trying to stay afloat, but sometimes you sink. And that is okay. There is something about adulting that doesn’t sit well with me. We are often led to believe that adulthood is all fun but it is not, the struggle is real.
Adulting comes with a lot and when I say a lot it means financial stress, mental health, relationship drama, and career uncertainty. From managing finances to balancing personal relationships, it can feel like we are always busy. For someone like me who hates comfort adulthood is affecting me mentally. I am always feeling that I am not doing enough and I need more or do more. All these feelings were not there when I was growing up. Now I understand why my mum keeps telling me you will when you grow up, the message is clear now.
The belief about adulthood suggests that by a certain age, we should have everything figured out like a steady job and a comfortable home.
However, the truth is that reality often looks nothing like this perfect picture. “Dem no dey tell pesin”. I know we have people who have their lives figured out and I have everything they wished for at the right age but this does not apply to everyone. In my case, my life is far from what I pictured a few years ago but I am still grateful. I am far from where I want to be even with my no days off. It is not easy!
But anyway, Self-care is important in adulthood. It is easy to overlook our own needs when we are caught up in responsibilities, but prioritizing our mental and physical health is important Whether through exercise, hobbies, or simply taking time to relax, finding ways to recharge is important. If you think about life too much you can nearly run mad. We must never lose our happiness and enjoy the process.
Lastly, adulthood is a journey filled with lessons. Mistakes are bound to happen, but they are part of the learning process. Each experience helps us understand our strengths and weaknesses and contributes to our personal growth. Above all, while adulthood can be challenging, it also presents opportunities for growth and self-discovery. It's important to remember that everyone is navigating this journey, and it's perfectly okay to seek help or lean on someone when needed.it is okay not to have it all together.
Thanks for your time.
