As long as we live, our memory still holds a record of the past, the pains, regrets, and chances we did not take. Sometimes we hold unto the past, and dwell in them, making us take up too much of today's possibilities. We worry too much about things we can't change, indirectly denying us from seeing the opportunities today offers.
People respond differently to their yesterday's predicaments, some learn from it while others use it as a point of excuse why he remained poor or never improved. A story is told of two men who were both robbed by thieves, a few years later, one of the men built more security system around his house, and the other left it the same way it is and always use it as a point of reference to show people the damage that was done to him in the past. The two people responded differently despite they both suffered the same circumstance. The first used the situation to improve his security around his home against the future, while the latter used it as a point of obtaining a pity look from friends and family.
The second dwelled in his past, giving no room for improvement. Don't let your yesterday take up too much of today. Today comes with bliss that can only be seen if the pains and regrets of yesterday are let go. You can't enjoy today's possibilities if you still reflect on the past, what is past, should be considered as a past. Though most times it's difficult to forget the past, life doesn't walk backward, we only take up today's opportunity if we consider the past and neglecting the lesson that came with it. If worrying can't change the past, why think about it, you could only get to your goal if you do not allow your yesterday to take much of your today. The past is like a school examination that shows us what we did not do well and again presents us today to correct.
