Amazon is a known brand and I guess it doesnt require any introduction. I have been leveraging the Amazon platform off lately for online shopping. Its my go to place for for almost everything, whether it’s groceries, gadgets, or last-minute needs. At first I check Amazon for the deals and if not found then only do I move to the other option which is Flipkart that again is also a well known and reliable platform for online shopping. But here come the irony when I got this message from amazon stating the following::
Amazon - Excessive Returns - Leading too Account Suspension
Amazon notification mail stated that - my amazon account have high returns and rejects for a few category of products. They will be monitoring my account and may be subject to additional check for continued high returns and rejects. And if found guilty they will suspend my account. But wait for a second I am their premium customer and as per records in last one year I had place 260+ order are you kidding me Amazon folks by sending this notification to your customer?
Another example that I can quote with regards to how much I leverage the Amazon platform is around the purchse of XIAOMI Pad 7 Nano Texture Display [Smartchoice] | Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3| 3.2K Display (28.44 cm /11.2") Tablet| 12GB, 256GB| Anti-Reflective| Anti-Glare| HyperOS 2| Dolby Vision Atmos | Mirage Purple. Xiaomi Pad along with other accessrioes it costed me around Rs.32K INR which is equivalent to $350 dollars.
Is amazon not seeing these high priced orders being placed and questioning the return order. Well, I had my reasons for the returns and they were mainly related to quality issues with clothing, and in some cases, I received items with the wrong size or color compared to what I had originally ordered. So I guess what will the customer do - Return the product RIGHT? So why the hell are you guys sending the notification to the customers stating that the account will be monitiored and suspended. To be honest, I did not like this gesture of Amazon on sending notification to geniune customers - what was th need here when you can track their order history and as to how much worth of shopping they are doing. Frankly was not needed at all. Anyways moving forward this was an eye opener for me when these online shopping platfroms can block users account.. Clear case of centralization and I guess we need some kind of decentralization here as well where technologies like blockchain could potentially come to the rescue by giving users more control and transparency. This is the image from the notification mail sent to me from Amazon indicating where I stand...
Almost at the edge of my account being blocked. They also mention avoid excessive returns and cancellations and to that I stand that I will return if I dont like the product. SIMPLE as that.
