We all leverage FREE mailing service providers. There are many in the market and some of the main players are - Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, Rediff Mail, Proton Mail and there could many otheres. In this post, I am going to talk specially about Gmail being the mail service provider and its new feature that was introduced way back in 2025 but being to all customer base was around 2025–2026 to most Gmail users (both web and mobile). To be honest I am came to know about this - Manage Subscription recently only and this post to talk about it. So what basically this feature Manage Subscription is all about?
Gmail’s NEW Feature - Manage Subscriptions Guide - Part1
Before we get into the specifics of the feature have a look at the above image which I have taken from my Gmail account. It displays to the various subscritions that I have enabled somehow and I am not sure at all if I did subscribe to all these service providers or not. But now with the Manage Subscription being provided at first users will be able to know about all the subscritions to which they have provided their gmail account mail-id along with an option to Unscribe those subscriptions. Have a look at the extrem left of the image and you can see "Unsubcribe" which is link to that particular service provider and if the users clicks and unsubscribe then the serivce provider needs to honour that submission of the users. As a result, they should no longer send any emails or notifications to the user. In fact, there are regulations in many regions that require service providers to honor unsubscribe requests failure to comply can lead to penalties, fines, or legal consequences. I guess no body would want to get in trouble and hence this feature of - Manage Subscription should come at a rescue to the users of Gmail and they should be seeing less of SPAM in their inboxes. I will talk about in more details about how the Unsubscrition works with an example and that should be coming in as Part2 of this post. Hence stay tune for a next update from my side on this.
