Hey All,
There is this activity on the HIVE blockchain where users with the help of their Resource Credits aka RC are able to claim new hive accounts and its not necessary that once you have claimed an account a new account has been created on the chain. Have a look at my account where I have close to 2227 account tokens which I can use to claim #HIVE accounts.
There is a difference between Claimed Account Vs and Created Account.
| Feature | Created Account | Claimed Account |
|---|---|---|
| Definition | An account that has been officially created on the Hive blockchain with a unique username. | An account that is reserved or allocated but not yet activated or used. See below image, I have 2227 accounts left to be claimed |
| Activation Status | Fully active and can perform transactions, post, vote, etc. | Not yet active; cannot perform any actions until claimed/activated. |
| User Ownership | Directly controlled by the user who created it. | Claimed by someone who has received the rights to use the account, often via a creation token. |
With my current HP status which is around 140K+ when I click on - "Claim Multiple accounts" on peakd platform - I get this message::
As of writing this blog post, my recource credits is close to 83% and if I use these RC then I can claim close to 18 more accounts. In simple words we can say that the #HIVE chain will automatically calculate how much of ones account HP is “spent” to claim the account. Moving further to the - "Hive Total Claimed Accounts" here the query that I triggered and the result that I got on my DBeaver application.
As you can see close to 5.7 million accounts have been claimed, indicating that many accounts are claimed but not yet activated. Do we get into the trends and insights of this data i.e.;
- Top 100 Users by Total Account Claimed
- Used vs Unused Claimed
- Percentage Utilization of Claimed And finally
- Heatmap of Claimed vs Created Accounts
Sounds intresting? I went further adding and refining my query to pull records for the Top100 users who have claimed accounts and then plotted some above defined graphs to analyze the trends. Here is the working query with the output, I exported it to a csv file to plot the graphs.
Query out in table form for Top20 for readablity purpose. Note the graphs though are plotted consedring the top100 users data who have claimed accounts based on raking.
