Cari amici, ultimamente non ho quasi avuto tempo per il mio nuovo violino. La burocrazia mi sta perseguitando. Parecchio è già stato risolto, grazie a Dio, ma di strada da fare ce n'è ancora: il decesso del mio commercialista, oltre al dispiacere per il fatto che non era per nulla in età di morire (non aveva ancora 60 anni😭), mi sta ponendo in circostanze precarie. Nessun imprenditore, per quanto microscopico come me, può farne a meno, fosse anche solo per consulenze periodiche e la dichiarazione annuale. A tutt'ora sono alla ricerca di un nuovo commercialista che mi risulti d'aiuto come lui.
Ma fortunatamente per voi, il mese scorso avevo già piazzato in cantiere un nuovo video musicale...imperfetto come al solito😂. Sto capendo che oltre ai vizi (così si chiamano nell'ambito dello studio del violino) da correggere, ci sarebbe pure l'archetto da sostituire, ma al momento è una spesa impensabile, dunque mi ritrovo costretta a pregarvi di accontentarvi di quel che passa il convento🤣.
Tornando seria: questo è un inno appositamente rivolto ai bimbi, soprattutto piccoli e piccolissimi (ma ovviamente, non certo vietato ai grandi!) che appunto il mese scorso avevo fatto studiare a una delle mie piccole alunne che doveva partecipare a un saggio scolastico in cui si doveva cantare obbligatoriamente in inglese. Il tema scelto dagli insegnanti della scuola era costituito da canti religiosi. Bimbi divisi in gruppi e ciascun gruppetto doveva stare attento a scegliere canti diversi, che non fossero stati già presi dagli altri. Per la bimbetta, spaesata dal saggio in cui doveva cantare in pubblico, povera🐣, avevo pensato a Jesus Loves me, conosciutissimo nel mondo anglo, specie USA. L'autrice fu una scrittrice americana, Anna Bartlett Warner, autrice di numerosi libri (alcuni scritti assieme alla sorella Susan), poemi e canti religiosi per bambini. Il canto Jesus Loves me ha quattro strofe, di cui suono la prima, più ritornello (aggiunto da William Batchelder Bradbury nel 1862):

Dear friends, lately I have hardly had time for my new violin. Bureaucracy is haunting me. Quite a lot has already been sorted out, thanks God, but there is still some way to go: the death of my accountant, in addition to the sorrow that he was not at all of dying age (he was not yet 60😭), is putting me in precarious circumstances. No entrepreneur, no matter how microscopic as I am, can do without an accountant, even if only for periodic consultations and the annual tax report. I am still looking for a new accountant who could be as helpful as he was.
But luckily for you, last month I had already placed a new music video in the pipeline... imperfect as usual😂. I'm realising that in addition to the vices (that's what they're called in violin study -at least in Italian, sorry: I don't own a so advanced English level to know all technical terms used in each niche-) to be corrected, there would also be the bow to be replaced. But at the moment it's an expense I can't even think about, so I find myself forced to beg you to take what's available🤣.
Getting back to serious business: this is a hymn specifically aimed at children, especially babies and toddlers (but of course, not forbidden to adults!) which just last month I encouraged one of my little pupils to study for a school recital in which she had to sing in English. The theme chosen by the school teachers was religious songs. Children were divided into groups and each little group had to be careful to choose different songs that had not already been taken by the others. For the child, bewildered by the recital in which she had to sing in public, poor cutie🐣, I had thought of Jesus Loves me, well known in the Anglo world, especially the USA. The author was an American writer, Anna Bartlett Warner, author of numerous books (some written together with her sister Susan), poems and religious songs for children. The song Jesus Loves me has four stanzas, of which I play the first, plus refrain (added by William Batchelder Bradbury in 1862):

for the Bible tells me so,
