Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
Oggi è il momento di tornare in corea con una serie che credo da me verrà trattata diversamente che da altri.
Si chiama dr brain e questa e la mia anteprima.

La scuola coreana oramai non conosce limiti.
Al cinema ed in tv, ma anche nella pop music e nell'arte, sono tante le soddisfazioni che i coreani si stanno togliendo offrendo al pubblico prodotti, innanzitutto, originali.
E Dr. Brain, prima serie coreana di Apple TV Plus, è esattamente questo; una serie molto originale, spigolosa e complicata che non può lasciare indifferenti.

Da molte parti ho letto che Dr Brain è una serie che può soddisfare i palati fini e, soprattutto, i palati di chi, come me, ne oramai viste di cotte e di crude in questi anni di passione seriale.
E' vero, verissimo ma qui mi sento di fare il bastian contrario.
Dr Brain a me ha dato un'impressione totalmente opposta rispetto a tanti colleghi blogger e ai non colleghi giornalisti.
La serie coreana mi è sembrata un meltin pot di generi (il che è una cosa buona e giusta, nonchè segno di grande cultura cinematografica e artistica) ed un'accozzaglia di trovate narrative già viste, magari non in cento o mille serie ma comunque già viste.
Il fatto che, alcune di quelle trovate, si riconducano a prodotti anche spesso commerciali e magari poco riusciti non rende il mix di Dr Brain un mix originale in senso stretto.
Il fatto che, poi, molte di quelle situazioni viste nella serie Apple si accostino e rimandino a serie di un certo livello come The OA o Fringe (tanto per citarne 2 che mi vengono in mente ora mentre scrivo) rende le cose ancora più complicate.
Semplificando, provo a rispondere a 2 o 3 domande che farei a me stesso se fossi dall'altra parte dello schermo intento a leggere questo post.
Dr Brain è una serie originale?
Si, ma non quanto vogliono farvi credere.
Dr Brain è una serie da vedere a tutti costi?
A mio avviso no.
Questa seconda domanda, e quest'ultima risposta mi farebbero desistere dal recupero di una serie pur molto buona.
Perchè, allora son qui a parlarne?

As usual today I bring you a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see in the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for some months now, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.
Today it's time to return to Korea with a series that I think I will be treated differently than others.
It's called dr brain and this is my preview.

The Korean school now knows no limits.
In cinema and TV, but also in pop music and art, there are many satisfactions that Koreans are taking away by offering to the public original products.
And Dr. Brain, the first Korean series for Apple TV Plus, is exactly that; a very original, edgy and complicated series that cannot leave anyone indifferent.

In many places I've read that Dr. Brain is a series that can satisfy the most discerning palates and, above all, the palates of those who, like me, have seen their fair share in these years of serial passion.
It's true, very true, but here I feel like being the opposite.
Dr. Brain gave me a totally opposite impression compared to many fellow bloggers and non-colleague journalists.
The Korean series seemed to me a melting pot of genres (which is a good and right thing, as well as a sign of great cinematic and artistic culture) and a jumble of narrative gimmicks already seen, maybe not in a hundred or a thousand series but still already seen.
The fact that some of those gimmicks can be traced back to products that are often commercial and perhaps not very successful does not make the mix of Dr. Brain an original mix in the strict sense.
The fact that, then, many of those situations seen in the series Apple are approached and refer to series of a certain level as The OA or Fringe (just to name two that come to mind now as I write) makes things even more complicated.
Simplifying, I try to answer 2 or 3 questions that I would ask myself if I were on the other side of the screen reading this post.
Is Dr Brain an original series?
Yes, but not as much as they want you to believe.
Is Dr Brain a series that should be watched at all costs?
In my opinion, no.
This second question, and this last answer would make me desist from recovering a very good series.
Why, then, am I here to talk about it?
