Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
Oggi è il momento di ritornare su una serie di cui avevo già parlato in occasione dell'uscita e che oggi ritorna su questi schermi.

Di Nine Perfect Strangers vi avevo già parlato in occasione delle mie first impression lo scorso anno. Furono prime impressioni entusiaste quelle ma, come a volte accade, il livello che mi sarei aspettato di vedere raggiunto, o quantomeno preservato, è andato abbassandosi puntata dopo puntata, complice, forse, un'ambizione troppo forte che gli autori avevano mostrato nelle loro manovre iniziali.
Nine Perfect Strangers, in soldoni, non ha rispettato le attese, attestandosi come una buona serie, dall'ottimo cast, ma nulla più.

E mannaggia a me che mi ero sbilanciato cosi tanto.
Daltronde, nella serie Amazon Prime Video, figuravano personalità di spicco del mondo seriale e cinematografico.
Innanzitutto, dietro l'intera operazione trovavamo David E.Kelley, uno che di solito ha la bocca buona e che, raramente, lascia noi spettatori a bocca asciutta. Il marito della bellissima ed iconica Michelle Pfeiffer è una capoccia abbastanza brillante visto che la sua firma è apposta in serie come The Undoing (sempre con la Kidman protagonista), Mr Mercedes (forse la migliore serie trasposta di Stephen King) e soprattutto Big Little Lies del compianto Jean Marc Valleè (Rest in Peace caro Jean). Era lecito, dunque, attendersi qualcosa di mirabolante ancor più che a sostenerlo c'era un parterrè de rois che comprendeva, oltre alla Kidman anche attori del calibro di Michael Shannon, Bobby Cannavale e Melissa McCarthy.
La tanta pubblicità che Amazon ha destinato allo show e l'intrigante pilot avevano contribuito ad alzare l'asticella dell'attesa forse troppo in alto, talmente in alto che anche al nostro "Gimbo" Tamberi avrebbe potuto girare la testa.

Nine Perfect Strangers ha dimostrato di avere vari pregi.
Una regia molto pulita e accorta, delle performance magari non straordinarie ma comunque di alto, alto, alto livello, un'alchimia fra alcuni personaggi veramente molto forte (penso soprattutto a Melissa McCarthy e Bobby Cannavale) ed infine una capacità di farci scivolare dentro traumi personali di questi nove sconosciuti, veramente molto forte.

As usual today I bring you a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see in the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for some months, I decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.
Today it's time to return to a series of which I had already spoken on the occasion of the release and that today returns to these screens.

I already talked about Nine Perfect Strangers on the occasion of my first impressions last year. Those were enthusiastic first impressions but, as sometimes happens, the level that I expected to see reached, or at least preserved, went down episode after episode, accomplice, perhaps, an ambition too strong that the authors had shown in their initial maneuvers.
Nine Perfect Strangers, in a nutshell, did not meet expectations, proving to be a good series, with a great cast, but nothing more.

And darn me that I was unbalanced so much.
On the other hand, in the series Amazon Prime Video, there were prominent figures in the world of serial and film.
First of all, behind the whole operation we found David E. Kelley, one who usually has a good mouth and that, rarely, leaves us viewers dry mouth. The husband of the beautiful and iconic Michelle Pfeiffer is a pretty brilliant boss since his signature is affixed in series such as The Undoing (also starring Kidman), Mr Mercedes (perhaps the best series transposed by Stephen King) and especially Big Little Lies by the late Jean Marc Valleè (Rest in Peace dear Jean). It was legitimate, therefore, to expect something amazing, even more so since it was supported by a parterrè de rois that included, in addition to Kidman, actors of the caliber of Michael Shannon, Bobby Cannavale and Melissa McCarthy.
The much publicity that Amazon has given the show and the intriguing pilot had helped to raise the bar of expectation perhaps too high, so high that even our "Gimbo" Tamberi could have turned his head.

Nine Perfect Strangers has proven to have several merits.
A very clean and shrewd direction, the performances may not be extraordinary but still high, high, high level, a chemistry between some characters really very strong (I think especially Melissa McCarthy and Bobby Cannavale) and finally an ability to make us slip into the personal traumas of these nine strangers, really very strong.
