Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
Oggi il mio consiglio è un non consiglio è una serie che vi direi di non vedere che non merita alcuna possibilità quindi prendetelo come un warning, un avvertimento che vi faccio per evitarvi unaa

Pivoting è in onda su FOX e già questo dovrebbe dirvi molto sul perchè questo prodotto non dovrebbe neppure essere nella vostra lista (ma allora perchè è finita nella tua caro SerialFiller?) a meno che non sia uno di quei titoli che passano una volta nella vita sulla tv generalista, tipo Lost, This is Us o Fringe o pochi altri prodotti di una qualche rilevanza.
La verità è che, come spesso accade, mi tuffo in qualche pilot alla cieca ed alla ricerca di qualcosa che possa scaldarmi il cuore ma che puntualmente riesce a raffreddarlo come una barra di acciaio in una casa senza riscaldamento il 20 di Dicembre.
Il motivo per cui ho dato una chance a Pivoting qualche mese fa francamente lo ignoro anche io.
Provo a tirare ad indovinare.
Qualche volto riconoscibile? Ero alla ricerca di un pilot a caso? Mi piaceva il titolo? Avevo voglia di una serie brutta?
Non lo so, davvero. Non lo so.
Come è o come non è io quel pilot l'ho visto e l'ho trovato di una banalità allucinante.
E' un prodotto generalista, cosa avrei potuto attendermi?
Non c'è una firma dietro che potesse garantirmi qualcosa di più, perchè illudermi?
Il cast ha qualche volto noto ma non stiamo certo parlando di Amy Adams o Emily Blunt.
Ginnifer Goodwin, Maggie Q ed Eliza Coupe hanno sicuramente fatto delle cose in passato ma dubito che qualcuno abbia mai affisso un poster in cameretta con i loro volti.
Tornando un attimo (ma davvero un attimo) alla trama, Pivoting parla di 4 amiche che diventano 3 dopo pochi minuti poichè una delle "Fab 4" muore di cancro.
Tristissimo. Doloroso. Lancinante. E quindi ora che si fa?
Viviamo.
Anche per la nostra amica defunta.
Il tempo passa in fretta e questo lutto ci ha fatto rendere conto che dobbiamo vivere, vivere, vivere.
Bene. Brave. Tutto bello.
Ora però tocca sviluppare una serie su queste fondamenta e, a meno che non abbiate Dan Fogelman alle spalle, la cosa non è che si avveri chiudendo gli occhi e pensando a quanto sarebbe bello creare una serie di buoni sentimenti che parli di come 3 amiche diventino degli esseri umani modello solo grazie alla morte della quarta Beatles.

As usual today I bring you a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see in the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for some months, I decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.
Today my advice is a non-advice is a series that I would tell you not to see that does not deserve any chance so take it as a warning, a warning that I do to avoid unaa

Pivoting is aired on FOX and this should tell you a lot about why this product should not even be on your list (but then why did it end up on your dear SerialFiller?) unless it is one of those once-in-a-lifetime titles on general TV, like Lost, This is Us or Fringe or a few other products of some relevance.
The truth is that, as often happens, I dive into some pilot blindly and looking for something that can warm my heart but that punctually manages to cool it down like a steel bar in a house without heating on December 20.
Why I gave Pivoting a chance a few months ago is beyond me.
I'm going to take a wild guess here.
Any recognizable faces? Was I looking for a random pilot? Did I like the title? Was I in the mood for a bad series?
I don't know, really. I don't know.
As it is or as it isn't I watched that pilot and found it to be mind-bogglingly banal.
It's a generalist product, what could I have expected?
There is no signature behind it that could guarantee me something more, why delude me?
The cast has some familiar faces but we're certainly not talking about Amy Adams or Emily Blunt.
Ginnifer Goodwin, Maggie Q and Eliza Coupe have certainly done some things in the past but I doubt anyone has ever put up a poster in their bedroom with their faces on it.
Going back to the plot for a moment (but really for a moment), Pivoting is about 4 friends who become 3 after a few minutes because one of the "Fab 4" dies of cancer.
So sad. Painful. Excruciating. So now what do we do?
We live.
Even for our departed friend.
Time passes quickly and this grief has made us realize that we need to live, live, live.
Good. Good. All good.
But now it's time to develop a series on this foundation and, unless you have Dan Fogelman behind you, it's not going to happen by closing your eyes and thinking about how great it would be to create a feel-good series about how 3 friends become model human beings just because of the death of the fourth Beatle.
