Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

Di Sons of Anarchy.

Lo hanno definito un racconto shakesperiano in 7 atti, eppure a giudicare dal titolo, dall'ambientazione e dai protagonisti quella sarebbe stata la definizione più remota che vi sarebbe venuta in mente. Sons of Anarchy è diventata cult senza la pretesa di volerlo essere.
Un crescendo costante ed inesorabile che ha visto la serie tv di Kurt Sutter divenire un piccolo fenomeno globale col passare del tempo. Uno di quei rari casi (ricordate The Wire?) in cui abbiamo assistito ad un aumento della popolarità e del successo della serie solo in coda alle sue stagioni e incrementalmente al termine della serie stessa.
In onda sulla FX per 7 stagioni, lo show ci ha portato all'interno di piccole bande di riders che, in sella alle loro Harley, ci hanno fatto vivere momenti di altissima televisione.
Un dramma di quelli pesanti (non ai livelli di I Know This Much is true ma quasi), costruiti benissimo e con personaggi indimenticabili.

Protagonista assoluto, ma non unico, Jackson "Jax" Teller interpretato da un Charlie Hunnam giovanissimo e lanciatissimo verso una splendida carriera.
SAMCRO è la banda di motociclisti che, solo apparentemente, sono riuniti sotto la stessa patch per pura passione motoristica. Quello che li unisce è un vero e proprio patto di sangue che li legherà a vita come fratelli.
Il concetto di famiglia è molto solido ma è altrettanto labile all'interno della serie.
In nome dell'amore fraterno, paterno, filiale vengono commossi atti gravissimi.
La famiglia, come avveniva in Breaking Bad ad esempio, assume una valenza salvifica e mortifera allo stesso tempo. E' grazie ad essa, che sia una famiglia di sangue o una famiglia acquisita dalla fede SAMCRO, che i protagonisti lottano in un inferno senza fine giustificando la sete di vendetta o la violenza ininterrotta con il loro senso di appartenenza spiccato al gruppo esteso di cui fanno parte e per cui farebbero ogni cosa. Rispetto al capolavoro di Gilligan c'è di certo molta più crudeltà, molto più gusto per lo splatter, molta più teatralità ma è indubbio che le 2 serie condividano molto e si trovino a danzare sulla stessa pista da ballo in molte occasioni.
La gang risulterà molto simile ad una famiglia mafiosa ma con un nucleo esteso rappresentato da un vertice ed una vera e propria organizzazione con a capo un presidente e tanti membri deputati a decidere su ogni cosa riguardi la crew.

Una crew che si macchierà di ogni tipo di crimine e delitto, dalla vendita di armi alla droga, dall'omicidio al rapimento e via discorrendo.
Un crescendo fatto di tradimenti inattesi, giochi di potere e doveri verso una fratellanza tossica che renderà ogni evento e macchinazione sempre più drammatica. Un'escalation senza fine che tuttavia non si fermerà alla sola componente brutale e criminale.
In gioco ci sono vite, amori e sogni di Jax, ragazzo sognatore che per quanto spietato avrà sempre come obiettivo quello di vivere una vita pulita e fuori dal traffico di armi e di droga.
La sua evoluzione è una delle più complesse e complete della storia della tv.
Un antesignano delle lotte tra padri e figli che avremmo rivisto negli anni a venire nei Gomorra e nei Gangs of London. Jax è un ragazzo puro che si troverà a raccogliere un'eredità scomoda e diversa da quella che aveva sempre percepito.
Molti nodi verranno al pettine e sarà lui a doverli sbrogliare, lui che in un batter d'occhio si troverà a passare dal belloccio muscoloso e intelligente del gruppo all'esserne leader e guida spirituale.

About Sons of Anarchy.

They called it a Shakespearean tale in 7 acts, but judging by the title, the setting and the protagonists that would have been the most remote definition that would have come to mind. Sons of Anarchy has become a cult hit without pretending to want to be one.
A steady and inexorable crescendo that has seen Kurt Sutter's TV series become a small global phenomenon over time. One of those rare cases (remember The Wire?) in which we have seen an increase in popularity and success of the series only at the end of its seasons and incrementally at the end of the series itself.
On air on FX for 7 seasons, the show took us inside small gangs of riders who, riding their Harleys, made us live moments of very high television.
A heavy drama (not at the level of I Know This Much is true but almost), very well constructed and with unforgettable characters.

The absolute protagonist, but not the only one, is Jackson "Jax" Teller, played by a very young Charlie Hunnam, launched towards a wonderful career.
SAMCRO is the gang of motorcyclists who, only apparently, are united under the same patch for pure motoring passion. What unites them is a real blood pact that will bind them for life as brothers.
The concept of family is very solid, but it is equally shaky within the series.
In the name of brotherly, fatherly, filial love, very serious acts are committed.
The family, as was the case in Breaking Bad for example, assumes a saving and deadly value at the same time. It is thanks to it, whether it is a family of blood or a family acquired by the SAMCRO faith, that the protagonists fight in an endless hell justifying the thirst for revenge or the uninterrupted violence with their sense of belonging to the extended group of which they are part and for which they would do anything. Compared to Gilligan's masterpiece there is certainly much more cruelty, much more taste for splatter, much more theatricality but there is no doubt that the 2 series share a lot and find themselves dancing on the same dance floor on many occasions.
The gang will be very similar to a mafia family but with an extended nucleus represented by a summit and a real organization with a president at the head and many members deputies to decide on everything about the crew.

A crew that will be guilty of any kind of crime and crime, from the sale of weapons to drugs, from murder to kidnapping and so on.
A crescendo made of unexpected betrayals, power games and duties towards a toxic brotherhood that will make every event and plot more and more dramatic. An endless escalation that, however, will not stop at the brutal and criminal component.
At stake are the lives, loves, and dreams of Jax, a dreamer boy who, no matter how ruthless, will always have as his goal to live a clean life outside the arms and drug trade.
His evolution is one of the most complex and complete in the history of TV.
A forerunner of the fights between fathers and sons that we would see again in the years to come in Gomorrah and Gangs of London. Jax is a pure boy who will find himself picking up an uncomfortable and different inheritance from the one he had always perceived.
Many knots will come to the comb and he will have to unravel them, he who in the blink of an eye will go from the handsome muscular and intelligent group to be the leader and spiritual guide.
