Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
Premesso che se state aspettando la mia opinione allora avrete anche voi colto un senso di disorientamento nel leggere le opinioni in giro per il web.
Ho letto, in molti blog e quotidiani, blogger e critici parlare di capolavoro.
Addentrandomi sui siti specializzati e rovistando nei commenti sui social media ho anche percepito un certo disappunto rispetto alla serie, considerata, almeno nei suoi primi 2 episodi, un discreto insuccesso.
La verità non sta nel mezzo e non sta negli estremi, non in questo caso.
E' tempo di godersi il viaggio e attendere l'evoluzione di una storia che, nei suoi 2 episodi, viene introdotta, e bene, e viene introdotta mostrando quanto questa produzione possa essere monumentale in termini visivi, scenografici e digitali.
Il giudizio sulla direzione che lo show vorrà prendere è, dunque, sospeso.
Better Call Saul ha impiegato anni a conquistare il titolo di capolavoro.
Le vere delusioni, d'altro canto, hanno impiegato pochi minuti per manifestarsi in tutta la loro pochezza.
Gli Anelli del Potere non è nè l'una, nè l'altra e, probabilmente, non sarà mai ne l'una o nell'altra, almeno questa è la sensazione che mi lasciano i primi 2 episodi.
Che l'hype fosse elefantiaco era prevedibile e, forse, doveroso.
Aldilà dell'eredità che la serie doveva rispettare, legittimare e glorificare, c'era un tema meramente produttivo ed economico che lasciava di stucco e con ottime speranze.
Circa un miliardo di dollari sono stati spesi per acquisire i diritti letterari e per mettere in cantiere la serie.
Uno sforzo senza precedenti che testimoniava la volontà di Amazon di rendere onore ad una delle saghe più amate di tutti i tempi.
I primi 2 episodi ci dicono che quegli sforzi hanno dato, almeno dal punto di vista grafico e visivo, i propri frutti. La pulizia degli effetti digitali, la verosimiglianza dei luoghi mistici e fantastici che popolano un universo come quello delle Terre di Mezzo e di tutti gli altri territori immaginari, è sbalorditiva. I personaggi di fantasia più poderosi, dal troll delle nevi al verme, passando per orchi ed il temutissimo Sauron, sono resi benissimo. Ottima, anche, la breve ma evocativa sequenza di battaglia che ci viene mostrata nei primi minuti dello show.

As usual today I am bringing you in a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog focused entirely on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.
WHEREAS, if you are waiting for my opinion then you will also have caught a sense of bewilderment in reading the opinions around the web.
I have read, in many blogs and newspapers, bloggers and critics talking about masterpiece.
Delving into specialized sites and rummaging through comments on social media, I also sensed a certain disappointment with the series, which was considered, at least in its first 2 episodes, to be a fair failure.
Truth does not lie in the middle or in extremes, not in this case.
It is time to enjoy the journey and wait for the evolution of a story that, in its 2 episodes, is introduced, and well, and is introduced by showing how monumental this production can be in visual, scenic, and digital terms.
Judgment on the direction the show will want to take is, therefore, suspended.
Better Call Saul took years to win the title of masterpiece.
The real disappointments, on the other hand, took a few minutes to manifest themselves in all their paucity.
The Rings of Power is neither and probably never will be either, at least that is the feeling the first 2 episodes leave me with.
That the hype was elephantine was predictable and, perhaps, due.
Beyond the legacy that the series was supposed to respect, legitimize, and glorify, there was a purely productive and economic theme that left one in awe and with high hopes.
Approximately $1 billion had been spent to acquire the literary rights and to put the series into the pipeline.
An unprecedented effort that testified to Amazon's willingness to honor one of the most beloved sagas of all time.
The first 2 episodes tell us that those efforts have paid off, at least graphically and visually. The cleanliness of the digital effects, the verisimilitude of the mystical and fantastic places that populate such a universe as the Middle Lands and all the other fictional territories, is astounding. The most mighty fantasy characters, from snow trolls to worms, via orcs and the dreaded Sauron, are beautifully rendered. Excellent, too, is the brief but evocative battle sequence we are shown in the first few minutes of the show.
