Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

Qualcuno, forse, si sarebbe aspettato di più ma è pur vero che una serie del genere non può, e non deve, permettersi di sparare tutte le cartucce all'inizio per poi, eventualmente, trascinarsi stancamente.
Bene, dunque, in termini tecnici.
Ed in termini narrativi?

Partiamo da una considerazione banale.
Il casting.
Al termine dei primi 2 episodi non mi è rimasto sotto pelle neppure un personaggio.
Galadriel (Morfyd Clark), che è forse il personaggio con il maggior minutaggio nel dittico iniziale, non mi è per nulla piaciuta. Poco espressiva, poco intensa, poco incisiva rispetto a quello che il suo ruolo imporrebbe.
Molto meglio Elrond (Robert Aramayo) che ha impersonato molto più naturalmente quanto veniva richiesto, idealmente, dal proprio personaggio.
Nori e Arondir degni di una menzione ma per il resto nulla da segnalare.
E' una considerazione che, ripeto, rischia di essere opinabile e banale ma credo che dopo 132 minuti in compagnia di vari personaggi, il fatto di non aver "legato" ancora con nessuno non rappresenti un segnale molto incoraggiante.

Come vedete, ho evitato spoiler.
Non credo servisse addentrarci nella trama, nota a molti e ancora molto acerba.
Era importante, secondo me, offrirvi un punto di vista immediato e istintivo su quello che una serie cosi rilevante e attesa mi avesse lasciato.
Voglio terminare, però, con qualche considerazione "di pancia", ancor meno ragionata di quelle fatte in precedenza.
In queste settimane vi è stato l'esordio di un'altra serie fantasy attesissima e che nasceva con premesse molto meno fauste.
Si tratta, ovviamente, di House of The Dragon, prologo di Game of Thrones, in onda, in questi giorni su HBOMax.
Ho avuto la fortuna di assistere ai primi 2 episodi de Gli Anelli del Potere all'interno di una settimana in cui ho avuto modo di visionare e commentare i primi 2 episodi dello spinoff de Il Trono di Spade (qui trovate le recensioni di dettaglio).
Devo ammettere che il brivido che mi ha provocato House of The Dragon è stato molto più piacevole e profondo di quello che, invece, mi ha provocato l'adattamento seriale di The Lord of The Rings.

As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.

Some, perhaps, would have expected more but it is also true that such a series cannot, and should not, afford to fire all the shells at the beginning and then, eventually, drag on wearily.
Fine, then, in technical terms.
And in narrative terms?

Let us start with a trivial consideration.
Casting.
At the end of the first 2 episodes, not a single character remained under my skin.
Galadriel (Morfyd Clark), who is perhaps the character with the most minute in the initial diptych, did not appeal to me at all. Not very expressive, not very intense, not very incisive compared to what her role would dictate.
Much better was Elrond (Robert Aramayo) who impersonated much more naturally what was ideally required of his character.
Nori and Arondir worthy of a mention but otherwise nothing to report.
It is a consideration that, again, risks being debatable and trivial but I think that after 132 minutes in the company of various characters, the fact that I have not yet "bonded" with anyone is not a very encouraging sign.

As you can see, I have avoided spoilers.
I don't think it was necessary to go into the plot, which is known to many and still very immature.
It was important, in my opinion, to offer you an immediate and instinctive view of what such a relevant and expected series had left me with.
I want to end, however, with some "gut" considerations, even less reasoned than those made earlier.
In recent weeks there has been the debut of another highly anticipated fantasy series that began with much less faustian premises.
It is, of course, House of The Dragon, a prologue to Game of Thrones, airing, these days on HBOMax.
I was fortunate enough to watch the first 2 episodes of The Rings of Power within a week in which I had the opportunity to view and comment on the first 2 episodes of the spinoff of The Iron Throne (detail reviews here).
I have to admit that the thrill that House of The Dragon gave me was much more enjoyable and profound than, on the other hand, the serial adaptation of The Lord of The Rings.
