The controversy about FCA's loan application to the government hasn't been filed yet, so here comes another one, with FCA as protagonist, without forgetting the third controversy on the plate, that is the enormous conflict of interest that concerns the Elkann, today very powerful thanks also to the investments in the publishing world (Repubblica, Huffington Post, LaStampa etc.).
All these things that I have defined as controversies will hopefully mature into a serene debate aimed at better regulating certain areas.
Yesterday something completely legitimate and normal emerged, but probably in extraordinary times like these it would have been better to set aside.
We are talking about FCA dividends.
The amount for this year would be EURÂ 5.5Â billion.
Strange to note that this is almost exactly the amount required from the Italian state to deal with the emergency.
And so, without being accused of populism or conspiracy, I think it is fair to ask (or rather ask the Elkann) if it would not be appropriate to give up those dividends, just for this year, on an exceptional basis.
Someone legitimately asked for it, receiving as an answer that the dividends do not touch each other, they are sacred, they are written agreements and carved in stone.
That is true.
Very true.
But we live in an age that many have called apocalyptic, wartime.
Governments are required to have a war economy unless we forget that after the war it was the private citizens and the wealthiest men who were the first to roll up their sleeves thinking about the common good.
To unburden the state of a loan of 6.3 billion euros, compared with 55 billion euros made available, would mean giving that money back to other companies or categories in difficulty or using it for relaunching.
In such a situation, shouldn't large companies think about the common good for once, trying to fulfil a real social function for at least one year?

Tutte queste cose che io ho definito polemiche si spera che possano maturare in un dibattito sereno volto a regolamentare meglio determinati ambiti.
Ieri è emersa una cosa del tutto legittima e normale ma che probabilmente in tempi straordinari come questi sarebbe stato meglio accantonare.
Stiamo parlando dei dividendi FCA.
L'ammontare per quest'anno sarebbe di 5,5 miliardi di euro.
Strano notare come questa sia quasi esattamente la somma richiesta allo stato italiano per affrontare l'emergenza.
E allora, senza essere tacciati di populismo o complottismo, credo sia lecito chiedersi (o meglio chiedere agli Elkann) se non fosse il caso di rinunciare a quei dividendi, solo per quest'anno, in via eccezionale.
Qualcuno lo ha legittimamente chiesto, ricevendo come risposta che i dividendi non si toccano, sono sacri, sono accordi scritti e scalfiti nella pietra.
E' vero.
Verissimo.
Ma viviamo in un'epoca che in molti hanno definito apocalittica, da guerra.
Si richiede ai governi un'economia di guerra salvo dimenticare che dopo la guerra furono proprio i privati cittadini e gli uomini più facoltosi a rimboccarsi le maniche per primi pensando al bene comune.
Sgravare lo stato di un prestito di 6,3 miliardi di euro, a fronte di 55 miliardi messi a disposizione, vorrebbe dire ridestinare quei soldi ad altre imprese o categorie in difficoltà o utilizzarli per il rilancio.
In una situazione del genere le grandi aziende non dovrebbero pensare per una volta al bene comune, provando a svolgere, almeno per 1 anno una reale funzione sociale?
