What are centralized digital exchanges?
First let's start with the definition of an exchange, an exchange is a platform that allows you to exchange one currency for another. A digital exchange is a platform that allows you to exchange digital currencies, hence cryptocurrencies. Now let's introduce the concept of "centralized". A centralized exchange is an exchange that plays the role of the intermediary between the buyer and seller and charges commissions to provide its services.
Essentially, a centralized digital exchange is a company that exchanges digital assets, i.e. cryptocurrencies, that has a corporate form and a CEO who runs the company.

COINBASE

Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange based in San Francisco, California and was founded by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam in 2012.
The company is also listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the acronym COIN. Today the value of a share is 160$.
BINANCE

Binance is the largest exchange in the world, a huge chunk of transactions take place on this echange.
Binance was founded in 2017 by Changpeng Zhao and the current location is in the Cayman Islands.
The cryptocurrency that revolves around the exchange is the BNB, or Binance Coin which is now worth $425

Crypto.com is a cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2016 by Bobby Bao, Gary Or, Kris Marszalek, and Rafael Melo. Initially the project was called Monaco, it later changed its name to Crypto.com in 2018. The currency that revolves around the Crypto.com project is the CRO, and today it is worth $0.44
Conclusions
To date, the centralized exchanges where you can buy and store cryptocurrencies are really many, since one of the big problems of these exchanges is hacking it is important to choose the safest ones. At the moment there are no insurances or regulations that assure the user the return of stolen coins.

Cosa sono gli exchange digitali centralizzati?
Innanzitutto partiamo dalla definizione di exchange, l’exchange è una piattaforma che permette di scambiare una valuta con un'altra. Un exchange digitale è un una piattaforma che permette di scambiare valute digitali, quindi criptovalute. Ora introduciamo il concetto di “centralizzato”. Un exchange centralizzato è un exchange che svolge il ruolo dell’intermediario tra l’acquirente e il venditore e per fornire i propri servizi fa pagare delle commissioni.
Sostanzialmente un exchange digitale centralizzato è una società di scambio di beni digitali, ovvero criptovalute, che ha una forma societaria ed un amministratore delegato che gestisce la società.

Ad oggi gli exchange centralizzati nei quali si possono acquistare e custodire criptomonete sono davvero tanti, siccome uno dei grossi problemi di questi exchange è l’hackeraggio è importante scegliere i più sicuri. Al momento non ci sono assicurazioni o regolamentazioni che assicurano all’utente il ritorno delle monete rubate.
