FIAT is a car manufacturer founded in 1899 in Turin.
FIAT is the acronym for Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino. The company was born by the will of a group of Italian aristocrats who wanted an all-Italian car factory.
The FIAT 508 is an important car model because it was one of the cars that helped start the era of mass motorization.
The 508 was supposed to be a car with good performance but low cost. The designers were: Tranquillo Zerbi, Antonio Fessia, Bartolomeo Nebbia and Dante Giacosa.
The first model was released in 1932 and the last model was produced in 1939. The model you see in the photo is part of a series produced in 1932.
The engine was mounted in the front and had 4 cylinders in line with 995 cm3 of displacement. The traction was rear and had an output of 20 HP, which corresponds to 14.7 kilowatts.
It was one of the cars of the armed forces of the 1930s.
The 508 was also produced in Poland, France and Germany.
To date, the specimens on sale have a price of around € 25,000.
The model in the photo is the sedan version, but the coupé and spider version were also produced.
From 1932 to 1937, 112,000 copies were produced and sold for 10,800 lire. Today it would correspond to the figure of € 5.57, but we remember that we are talking about 90 years ago.

La FIAT è una casa automobilistica fondata nel 1899 a Torino.
FIAT è l’acronimo di Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino. L'azienda nacque per volontà di un gruppo di aristocratici italiani che volevano una fabbrica di automobili tutta italiana.
La FIAT 508 è un modello di autovettura importante perché fu una delle autovetture che contribuirono a far partire l’epoca della motorizzazione di massa.
La 508 doveva essere una vettura con buone prestazioni, ma dai costi contenuti. I progettisti furono: Tranquillo Zerbi, Antonio Fessia, Bartolomeo Nebbia e Dante Giacosa.
Il primo modello uscì nel 1932 e l’ultimo modello fu prodotto nel 1939. Il modello che vedete in foto fa parte di una serie prodotta proprio nel 1932.
Il motore era montato nella parte anteriore ed aveva 4 cilindri in linea da 995 cm3 di cilindrata. La trazione era posteriore ed aveva una potenza di 20 CV, che corrispondono a 14,7 Chilowatt.
Fu una delle autovetture delle forze armate degli anni 30.
La 508 fu prodotta anche in Polonia, Francia e Germania.
Ad oggi gli esemplari in vendita hanno un prezzo di circa 25.000€.
Il modello in foto è la versione berlina, ma fu prodotta anche la versione coupé e spider.
Dal 1932 al 1937 furono prodotti 112.000 esemplari venduti a 10.800 lire. Oggi corrisponderebbe alla cifra di 5,57€, ricordiamo peró che stiamo parlando di 90 anni fa.
