These are the punishments our grandparents and parents received. My mother, however, told me she received some serious smackings on the hands when she was at school and wasn't behaving well. Furthermore, I don't think the disparity in treatment at that age is right. There should be no distinction between boys and girls. The problem is that girls grow up undisciplined... something we can already see in our society; women often thrive on advantages, not real competitive skills.
