Buonasera amici di Steemit, oggi stando a casa tutto il pomeriggio ho avuto il tempo di sistemare alcune fotografie scattate circa due mesi fa a Borgio Verezzi, un piccolo paesino ligure, con un centro storico davvero carino, tra l'altro è nel tragitto che faccio tra casa e lavoro.

Oggi vi mostro degli scatti realizzati facendo una piccola escursione naturalistica insieme ad un mio amico fotografo, il quale mi ha fatto scoprire l'esistenza di una grotta naturale, nota come la "Cava vecchia": un antico sito estrattivo della Pietra di Verezzi dalle calde tonalità rossastre.
Essa era sicuramente attiva già nel XVI secolo, quando si estraeva a mano la pietra destinata a prestigiosi edifici aristocratici a Genova e nel feudo dei Doria a Loano. Nel 1900 cessarono le attività estrattive inseguito ad un crollo della grande volta della cavità artificiale.

Good evening friends of Steemit, today staying at home all afternoon I had the time to fix some photos taken about two months ago in Borgio Verezzi, a small Ligurian village, with a really nice historical center, among other things, it's on the way I do between home and work.

Today I show you some shots taken by taking a small naturalistic excursion together with a photographer friend of mine, who made me discover the existence of a natural cave, known as the "old quarry": an ancient quarrying site of the Verezzi stone from the hot reddish shades.
It was certainly active already in the 16th century, when the stone destined for prestigious aristocratic buildings in Genoa and in the fiefdom of the Dorias in Loano was extracted by hand. In 1900 mining activities ceased following a collapse of the large vault of the artificial cavity.
