On the beach of Koh Phangan, Thailand a few years back on the night of one of their infamous full moon parties…
Anyone who's been will know these are a riot, but also there are parties leading up to it and after it, as well as the same routine for the half-moon… so there's pretty much no non-party time there! I was staying in Koh Samui with a friend and we came over on the boat for the festivities… then managed to get back again at the end of the night.
A few days later we actually headed to Koh Phangan for a few days and soaked up more of its fun and frolics. This is me with a new friend in the first pic. I think it was one of those situations where someone cashing in gives you the monkey and takes a picture, then asks for money for said picture if you wish to buy it. I can't really remember but I went with it as it was a bit if fun. You can also see one of those god-awful/delightful buckets of who knows what beside me; all manner of concoctions with straws poking out. Great night, great trip!
Something else you might be asked once or twice around the country is if you'd like different services, well captured with this slightly peeved t-shirt. I didn't buy it of course but funny anyway. It can get a bit annoying after a while but that's the nature of the beast and what you sign up for as part of that particular adventure!
