Hi guys, Happy Lunar New Year, 祝大家身體健康, 心想事成.
After we have done our visit in the Kikakuji Temple, we still walked around nearby the temple, the boss of my wife told us that there is a Tofu Dessert shop nearby and they have one nice coffee shop on the street which is very nice, the coffee shop doesn't on the to try list on internet but her boss said it's still worth to try.
The coffee shop was easy to spot as it was on the main street, I ordered a cup of espresso and it was really smooth but of course it was a bit bitter to me, actually I don't take espresso very often, I wasn't going to try espresso if her boss is not recommending us to do so.
It wasn't easy to find the Tofu Dessert shop that her boss recommended to us since it was hide in the corner but finally we made it, I thought we were going to another temple once I arrived to the dessert shop as their renovation looks like a part of the Kinkakuji Temple, at least, I thought they look like the temple...
The shop was quite quiet when we there, maybe it's too late to have afternoon tea and too early to have dinner dessert (it was about 5pm when we get there), you can tell the Japanese people really into the green tea, when I asked the staff which flavor is the best for visitors and she told me that "green tea tofu with ice cream", well...ok...another green tea flavor, but it's ok to me for sure, I was wondering if it is a bit bland when seeing they served us in green tea and the dessert was in green tea flavor as well, anyway, all good, both my wife and I love the dessert (another picture lost, I can find the picture of my dessert only...
We were not planning to stay overnight in Kyoto, it's time for us to return Osaka before the sky too dark, I saw a traditional Japanese gift shop while we a on the way to the JR station, and I ended up pick a pink paper fan for my mom, see picture above.
