Calachuchi - A very common tropical flower and is also very popular in the Philippines.
Sunset bells from my mom's garden. They also bloom all year.
Santan flower from my cousin's yard and one of the most popular flowers in the Philippines. It also give me a nostalgic feeling - we used to play this when we were kids.
I am not sure what kind of flower is this but I got this from a friend when I visited their beach house 2 years ago.
A pleasant Sunday, y'all amazing people!
There are so many things in nature for which we ought to be grateful. One of them certainly must be flowers. There are different blossoms that we find in our surroundings. The excellent scents and beauty of these flowers improve the magnificence of our planet. Now, let's take a look at what these delightful things really do and how much bliss they bring.
This is my garden show post part 2, but today, it's going to be my mom's little garden at the farm. A couple of days ago, I posted something about my little nursery slash tiny garden and how I grow some ornamental plants, including vegetables. So last weekend, my daughter and I traveled to the farm to visit my mom and my wonder aspin dog, Sofia and to attend my nephew's birthday as well. I took the chance to take some photographs, which I am going to share with you all today and give short descriptions of some.
Let's get started.
Hoya Vine Flower
I got a cutting from a friend who owns a nursery business and sells plants. When I visited her, she toured me around her garden and gave me a cutting of her hoya vine. That was 3 years ago if I am not mistaken. Now, it's been flowering since it's first year and kept flowering since. It is a beautiful, sought-after flower that brings the perfect touch of color and elegance to any garden. Its showy, bright reddish-orange petals are clustered into small bouquets at the end of each branch. It blooms throughout the spring and summer months, producing an abundance of flowers in full bloom, with each one offering their own sweet scent and delicate beauty. The Hoya Vine flower can be planted both indoors or outdoors and is sure to bring forth a delightful surprise of color to any garden. My mom loves it too!
Hibiscus (Gumamela)
My mom's favorite flowering plant is the hibiscus. She finds Hibisbus to be the most excellent of all of her plants. They come in many tones and hues, like red, pink, white, yellow, purple, peach, and many others. Her favorite is the red one. It looks delightful when it blooms around her yard; they all bloom at once. Similarly, it is an extraordinary flower that generally stands apart from the other ones.
Orchids (Dendrobium)
Another mom's favorite is orchids. She also has a lot of varieties, most of which are dendrobiums. These are easier to manage compared to the bigger and more expensive kinds of orchids. Dendrobium orchids are not hard to grow. They bloom mostly around early summer here in the Philippines or as early as February. The flower can endure for as long as about a month and a half. Assuming that the temperatures stay cool, they might bloom multiple times during the year. Here's one of them.
Bougainvillea
Bougainvillea
Everyone knows bougainvillea, and I also discussed this one in my recent garden post. It's a thorny, bushy ornamental tree, and it is very popular all over the world. It is also one of my favorites, especially when its flowers invade its leaves. Summer is also their season. Here's one of my mom's collections.
Powder Puff
This was taken at my aunt's yard and just doesn't stop blooming. It is a stunning flower known for its unique petal shape - clustered together in a tight-knit ball, it almost looks like a cotton ball! Their beautiful red colour and tiny thin strands are the perfect combination for creating a romantic atmosphere perfect for any garden. It's too pretty not to share.
There are so many other flowers that I took, but I'll share the rest next time. So anyway, flowers provide levels of positive energy to most people. Besides, they help us relax by just staring at them. They add magnificence to our current circumstance and diminish feelings of anxiety in our home or work environment by causing us to feel blissful.
