The store opens at 7 AM. I left the house ten minutes earlier. In this opening shot, you can see some typical apartment buildings made for rental during the tourist season.
This is just an ordinary street in my neighborhood's neighboring neighborhood. I mean the part of Medulin nearest to the neighborhood in which I live.
On one of the walls not far from there, I saw a snail crawling across one of the real shells incorporated into that wall.
In one of the nearby gardens, I noticed this old newspaper booth. It was empty, of course, and its red color looked great among the surrounding green provided by the lawn and trees.
Across the street, I photographed some almost finished buildings that are there for sale.
Here you can take a look at another street, a bit further toward the store, and some ordinary, completely finished apartment buildings.
I liked this detail on one of those buildings, so I zoomed in and took this shot.
Except for the chimney, this building looks like an ordinary house. Only the fairly wide array of chimneys reveals that this is a restaurant. An old restaurant that looked more or less the same as when I was a kid.
Here you can see yet another street. And some early risers on it.
The atmosphere was sunnier and more colorful when I reached the pond, after the shopping. Here I stopped for an hour to photograph the leafhoppers on the vegetation at the edge of the water. But that's another story. This one ends here.
I woke up early today and walked to the grocery store. The only small corner shop in town and the nearest store to my neighborhood. Only three or four hundred meters from where I live. To the bigger stores, the two supermarkets on the outskirts of Medulin, I have a bit more than a kilometer to walk or drive. Here you can ten photographs that show the morning atmosphere along the way.
