Hi Everybody.
These shots are from a 2016 trip to the Island of Orkney ,another of my favourite places in all of Scotland.
Recently I have been going through my old photo albums , reminiscing about places I want to return to this year.
Orkney is one of the islands of the north coast of Scotland and is so far the only one of Scotland's Islands I have really explored.
This small island has alot of history some of which ties to the legends of The Knights Templar and to the early Scottish kings as well as Viking invaders.
Its another place I would love to return to with the goal of filming vlogs or making a documentary of some kind.
Orkney is quite unlike anywhere I have been before. The winds here are so strong there are no trees anywhere on the island. Most of it is really isolated and seems barren making you feel like your practically alone at the edge of the world.
There are 2 main towns , Kirkwall and Stromness and many ancient megalithic and historic sites.
These shots are of The Ring of Brodgar stone circle , The Tomb of the Eagles ancient Neolithic burial site, Skara brae stone age village ,St Magnus Cathedral , Kirkwall Castle, The Italian Chapel , Skapa flow WWII Shipwreck, Skaill House museum, and The Standing Stones Of Stennis's.
