We are getting closer to the end of this trip. As always, I do not want to leave the beach. Since that isn't what's happening, the next best thing to do is enjoy the last few days of time that we do have here at Seaside Heights, NJ.
The weather has been great all week, but Thursday was the first day where there was an overcast with some wind. I wouldn't say it was cold on the beach, but it wasn't quite as warm as earlier days and I would have appreciated the cloudiness to go away. At least it didn't rain on us.
We got out on the beach right after it opened at 10 am. By the time 12:30 rolled around, I had already spent a solid hour swimming in the waves. My parents and brother had worked up an appetite sitting in their chairs for hours. It wasn't for food, but alcohol. So they ventured off and I stayed with all of our stuff while they were gone. I watched an entire podcast episode of the Leo & Danny Show and still they were not back. Eventually, they did return, a solid 2.5 hours later and you'd think they would have been wasted by then. I luckily couldn't even tell that they were drunk. Must have been on good behavior. I ran out of beach energy around my usual time of 3 pm. I had gotten my fill of sun and seawater.
After the beach, we came home and all showered. My brother and I spent about an hour playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. It is some decent fun with a friend, especially if you enjoy Marvel Comics. However, it really was just a button-mash fest with a massive character roster.
Once we were all ready and wanted to go eat, we headed out on a short walk to the boardwalk. Before we got too far, I had everyone pose on this long fence beside our house. The added perspective of the shrinking fence in the distance made for some pretty awesome portrait shots.
The boardwalk is absolutely full of cool places to grab a bite to eat. I settled upon a donut bacon cheeseburger, but after I had already paid they informed me they were sold out of donuts. Luckily they had regular buns and it still turned out delicious. I got my sweet craving satisfied by getting some chocolate-filled churros from another place. Everyone else ate seafood and I tried one of the yummy crabcakes.
My mom got some churros on the way back home and then she and my brother also got some ice cream. I made sure to get a cool photo of them licking their cones together in front of the classic arcade Lucky Leo's.
We came home and sat on our front porch for about an hour. I used my PlayStation Backbone controller to take advantage of PS Remote Play on my iPhone. I had a lot of fun with this new game I just got for free with PS Plus called Death's Door. I look forward to making a video about that one once I get back home.
We gathered inside later that evening and watched a funny black horror comedy called The Blackening. We all thought it was pretty good. Both gory and full of funny jokes. After that my brother and I were knocked and that was the end of the day.
Time flies when you are having fun. One more day left of this vacation. I will share my final stories and photos from our trip tomorrow morning. Thanks for checking this one out.
