Something brought me to finally jump back into the massive game that is Destiny 2. I had spent well over 100 hours with the game but had played less than an hour of it since I got my PS5 in 2020.
I had multiple unplayed DLCs and the game has a next-gen upgrade that makes it look and feel better than ever. The stars aligned and I went for it. I knew it wouldn't be easy to just jump right back in and be as good as I used to. Especially because the people I used to squad up with no longer play the game. However, I believed in my Warlock and went for it.
When I got back into the game for the first time, everything was familiar, but only vaguely. I still had my favorite weapons equipped, which were some of the best at the time. Sadly, the meta has moved forward and these weapons are no longer dominant like they once were.
Then there was all of my armor. This too was no longer the best available in terms of power, but I'd argue that it is still possibly the best looking. Destiny 2 has some sort of transmog system so you can show whatever armor you want and use stats from another one. For whatever reason, it's not simple though. You have to do a bunch of stuff and then spend some of your resources to unlock each piece individually. I wish they would have just given us a regular transmog in the inventory, but Destiny is a grind in virtually every way imaginable.
One of the reasons I am so in love with this armor of mine is the shader that I have. Teal with magenta just goes way too hard. No Warlock should be this damn fashionable, but mine sure is. Thankfully the menu makes it very easy to snap some epic screenshots of your character. I was able to get 6 photos of my Warlock posing in his epic outfit. You've got to admit, this guy would be the star of a fashion show.
I've yet to get fully submersed in the world of Destiny 2 again just yet, but I have been playing it here and there. I plan to keep it downloaded and hop on it occasionally, but there are a dozen other games I keep downloaded for the same reason. Too many games and not enough time to play them all.
Let me know if you agree with me and think this armor is some of the best-looking from any game. I think Destiny is one of the most pleasing aesthetics of any game I've ever played. It's just hard to push myself to grind solo and online multiplayer in the Crucible can be pretty hit or miss depending on the randoms I get in my squad.
