Hello everyone #liketu how are you all friends, I hope you are all well, on this occasion I will give a little experience about my activities a few weeks ago. This time we are talking about the traditional tool of the Acehnese people, namely Jingki, because the fasting month is only counting the days but now many people have started preparing preparations to welcome this blessed month.
As we know, the Acehnese are known for their repertoire of Islamic scholarship and culture that characterize their society, as well as the traditional tools owned by the people are very unique which can make people outside Aceh amazed while in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
Anyone know about JINGKI Acehnese traditional tools? Well, for those who don't know, let's see the explanation below Do you know what JINGKI is? JINGKI or rice pounder is a traditional Acehnese tool, made of selected wood found in the Aceh forest, used to pound rice, rice, sago, coffee and others.
This situation makes the people of Aceh have to think creatively to meet the needs of life. Very different from today. Where technology continues to develop rapidly and spoil the world community in carrying out various daily activities. With it all, the activities carried out will become easier, more effective, and efficient.
Most of the people of Aceh have a livelihood in the agricultural sector. Some work in the fields and some work in the gardens. All the necessary equipment is available, although not so sophisticated. Because indeed to do agriculture does not require sophisticated equipment. However, it is the results from agriculture that make it a bit difficult for the community. Like turning rice into rice. It is not possible to do this by peeling the skin off one by one. Processing rice into rice is a very complicated job.
With all their creativity, the Acehnese make a tool for pounding rice called Jeungki or Jingki. With this tool, the Acehnese people process rice and some grains for processing. Sometimes to peel the skin or to be ground and made into flour. At that time, almost every Acehnese house had this Jingki. Because the shape is very simple, so it looks very easy to make. At first glance, it looks like a hammer. Please also note, this Jingki is made of large, heavy, and strong wooden sticks.
So that it can provide a strong mashing power and can crush hard grains. How to use it is not too difficult. It only takes two people. One person is behind to press the base of Jinggi, and the other is stirring and leveling the grains that are in the furnace. Usually, the people of Aceh are busy using it before the holy month of Ramadan to process flour as a cake ingredient when Eid arrives.
However, as time goes by, this Jingki is getting harder and harder to find. This is because there are many advanced technologies and equipment that can process dry grain or grains into more flour. Maybe, if you want to see the Jingki, you can still find it in some Acehnese houses in rural areas.
That's all from me, I ask for guidance and help from all parties.
