After cooking so many meals which can be exhausting as you need to plan the meals, do the grocery shopping, prep the food, and cook the food. We decided to have a takeaway lunch for our staff meal. It's great that we work at an area that has lots of choices for food and is especially convenient when we're busy or lazy to cook.
One of my colleagues went to buy some food at the food court above the place we work at. He bought some Malay and Mamak dishes and we cooked our own white rice.
He bought 4 different dishes. A clear soup sort of chicken dish that wasn't really that good because it was under seasoned and didn't have a lot of flavor to it.
Another dish he got which was super delicious was fried chicken pieces. They were cut into bite size pieces and deep fried with an orangey red batter which was super flavorful.
He also bought yet ANOTHER chicken dish which was a 'Ayam Masak Lemak' which is Malay dish of chicken cooked in a spicy coconut broth that's seasoned with turmeric and lemongrass. I really loved this dish and the gravy was really delicious especially when eaten with the white rice we made.
We also had a vegetable dish which were stir fried broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. This was also yet another plain dish which was under seasoned.
All in all, some dishes were good and some dishes weren't. 3/5 were good so I guess this place is just average or slightly above average. For the price we got this meal which was around RM50 total (<13 USD), I guess it was fairly priced.
