I miss flying. That was the title of my Liketu post a month ago. In a span of days, that wish came true. But not in the most ideal of circumstances. In fact, I didn't want to get on that plane. There was so much grounding me, preventing me from flying. I was 'too busy' to fly. I wasn't ready to be thrown so far away with everything that was going on in my life. And the trip was for a somber reason too. But family must come first. There was no one to accompany my mother on this flight and so, I was forced to go.
Being in the airport brought a bit of excitement. Finally, after years of being 'stuck' on this island, I would be able to cross the seas and land in a place where people talk differently and I'd have to use our country's lingua franca to communicate.
The lamellar wood beams of the airport reminded me that there is so much more out there, so many new things waiting to be experienced. The sight of the passengers scurrying around was proof that you can't keep humans from roaming and traveling the world.
The flight was short, less than an hour. It was unremarkable. But when I stepped outside and saw the unfamiliar sights, I knew my wish had been fulfilled. I miss flying and now I have. Who knows what's more in store. Maybe I should be more careful with what I wish for.
How about you? Any recent wishes that came true? Did it turn out the way wanted it to?
