I took these shots from my trip to Camotes Island and I was scrambling to capture the glorious mountains of Danao-Carmen-Catmon illuminated by the soft light of the sunset. My phone doesn't have optical zoom, just digital zoom, and my photos of the mountains don't give justice to the actual masterpiece of nature. I realized now that I should have used the High Res mode of my phone and cropped the photo to get a better digital zoom.
I've been looking to buy a new phone with good camera specs. If not for the typhoon that hit our place, I think I would've bought a new one already. Disturbances in our life can sometimes change our priorities. I'm still fine with my device and it can still take decent shots. In fact, I'm grateful to have a working smartphone.
I remember years ago when I attended a workshop and the speaker told us to bring out our phones and record a selfie video of us saying encouraging things about ourselves. We were supposed to keep the video and play it during times of self-doubt. My phone didn't have a camera during that time and I couldn't record a video. I was quite embarrassed that I couldn't participate in the activity.
But I know that no amount of high-end specs phones can motivate us during moments of self-doubt. It's up to us to help ourselves and do the best we could do with what we have.
