This is my translation of the Japanese proverb, "Nikumarekko yo ni habakaru," which is included in the "Iroha" card game deck.
"Nikumarekko" = "hated child"
"yo ni" = "in the world"
"habakaru" = "gains influence" but has quite a few other nuances.
