Cherry red!
Some hiding on the ferns...
Other stems still flowering...
Some close to getting picked... (not so!)
Others still green!
"Growing a garden is like printing your own money."
That is a quote by Ron Finley, who according to Wikipedia "is a fashion designer to professional athletes and a proponent for urban gardening."
It also mentioned that he made the city of LA change the “Residential Parkway Landscaping Guidelines” in 2010 allowing strip owners to grow vegetable gardens in the land between the sidewalk and the curb. What a great initiative he has done, no?
Anyway, I shared through a wee story yesterday about my little adventure out the yard where I get to pick just 4 ripe "kiat-kiat" as our neighbors put it and enjoying 3 of them afterwards. But what I didn't mention was that about an hour later, I went out again to check on the other plants which I somehow knew still existed down the property.
And oh boy, I were so chuffed upon seeing these knowing we are going to have some free and healthy lil snacks throughout the summer. Well, me that is because the husband wants to have them cooked while I prefer them raw although sometimes he couldn't help it and dig in especially when the day is utterly hot.

These are "wild" cherry tomatoes by the way and if my memory serves me right, I shared how we came to have this variety of tomatoes. I picked a few fruits from someone's garden in early 2019 I think and then grown them down our yard and at the back where they multiplied many times over. We enjoyed plenty of their fruits during the pandemic and also given them out in boxes to friends and relatives.

Everything had actually been pruned and removed sometime last year but some of the fruits have germinated from where they fell and they are now flowering and fruiting even without care, so yay! I'm so thankful of course!
These are some of those that I can just pick up, quickly wash and pop into my mouth without any hesitation because they are 100% organic. They have not been sprayed on nor given any fertilizers even.
Apart from these tomatoes (which I'm glad the birds seem to be ignoring), there are other plants out there (I may write about them next time) which continue to provide us with their fruits sparing us from having to buy from the market. And I think that's what Ron meant when he said that "Growing a garden is like printing your own money."
This would be all for today and cheers!
