“There’s only one place I want to go and it’s to all the places I’ve never been.”
We were not expecting to see this sight (and site) while we were traversing the Cervantes - Quirino road sometime ago. It was a steep area and we were heading down the winding road when we noticed the signage "NAMITPIT The Cattle Land". And because we didn't want to just pass by, we pulled over for a quick look around. I think anyone who first read the name would probably think it's a gateway to a pastureland or a place for herds.
But nope, it wasn't an entrance to anywhere. It's a viewing point or a scenic overlook if you may. There isn't even any cattle around, at least on that spot. Looking farther below and we saw a few of them freely roaming along the road. Quite odd yet fascinating, huh!
Anyway, the view from there is amazing. It's overlooking the wide and stretchy Lagben River, some farmlands, the hills, the valley (Namitpit village etcetera) and the mountains from afar, one of which is the Tirad Pass where we were headed to at that time.

We drove away after some 15-20 minutes enjoying the scenery and taking some photos. We didn't stay for long because we were trying to get to the mountain before sunset. And these shots below were taken when we were at the skyline and the Cattle Land (encircled in red) and the valley look really distant from up there.

I didn't really check the distance between the two places but it took us almost 2 hours to reach the mountain. We did stop by the longest hanging footbridge along our way. Guess that's how roadtrips really are, we don't just drive all the way to where we intended to go. We take detours too that make the journey even more worthwhile.
And it's Monday over here in my side of the world, late afternoon already! I keep saying time seems to fly by and it does, or don't you think so?
Anyhow, happy new week and cheers!
