A fireplace elsewhere
"Christmas magic is silent. You don't hear it — you feel it. You know it. You believe it."
We were on the road in the morning to Ilocos Sur. We were quite excited to explore farther because was our first time to go beyond the resorts where we had been to in the previous years. It's funny because we expected that the place would be hot or at least warmer than home but oh my, it's cold and very breezy too! Climate has changed they say...
Even though the weather may have been cold, we had so much fun and that's the important thing...
Then we met the relatives over lunch and there had been ample food, stories, remembering of things past, teasing and laughter. Those moments have already been recorded into our memory banks and we can withdraw from time to time. They will surely make me smile when reminiscing them.
"At Christmas, all roads lead home" the saying goes and it's absolutely true. The initial plan was to sleepover and then continue with the road trip tomorrow to explore farther away but the husband changed his mind so we bade the relatives goodbye and drove away late in the afternoon. We were not the first to leave though so it's good. We are now back home, keeping ourselves warm and enjoying each other's company.
It's been one hell of a day and my heart is full. But before we hit the sack for a much needed rest, here's to wish everyone a jolly, wonderful, magical and love-filled Christmas eve! Stay warm and happy wherever you may be!
Cheers and ciao for now.
