A House out of the box in Sumner Christchurch... by Wilson and Hill Architects. I love the view!
Island House by Paul Clarke. This is definitely my type of environment, green, airy, simple and kinda laid back...
The ultimate goal of many...? Maybe... (or maybe not)
That book by Steve Price
It's the weekend and I'm currently at the other house in my parent's place. Was up a little late this morning but was not to forget the new habit I was trying to acquire, re: to kick my own butt daily. I was checking out the books on the shelves for an inspiration and to read over coffee when I found one which is a perfect kicker for the day, "How to Bounce When Others Break" by Dr. Steve Price.
I must admit this is one of those which I've started to read a long time ago but did not get to finish. And then we moved to the other house so yeah, forgotten... But I'm glad to have noticed it today so I'm bringing it with me when I drive back home and will read it soonest!
The book contains the top 10 rules of resilient people and the title I've used on this post, Be the Boss of 'Me' is the 5th. And you may have guessed, I wanna be totally that, because who doesn't want to be, right? The book outlines 10 things codes of behavior to follow in order to build self-reliance and work one's way towards being the boss of his/her life and here's to share them, I quote:
- Setting goals
- Set deadlines
- Set your schedule
- Start projects
- Finish what you start
- Seek professional advice (but decide for yourself)
- Create multiple streams of income
- Put your health first
- Take regular inventory
- Get out of your own way

To me, being the boss of oneself simply means having the freedom from outside forces and being able to do what you want, when you want them and wherever without having to think about this or that.
Anyhow, whilst I'm here, I went through some magazines and took some photos of beautiful houses featured on the "Houses NZ" and I couldn't resist including them here. Not that they are totally out of the subject at hand, but to me, the unimpeded or unconstrained views from the two houses represent something I can relate to being the boss of me - being free, uninhibited and what Tito Ed said a while ago, "not giving a fnck."
Depending on how one sees it but that's how it is for me. This is all for now, thank you lots and will catch up with you soon as I'm home.
Cheers and happy weekend!
