Christmas day is just around the corner and I'm going to share some holiday trees and decors found on my photo gallery before I delete them. This year's yuletide vibe is a bit more toned down compared to previous years, at least before the pandemic where almost every house in town are decorated with sparkling Christmas lights and other ornaments months prior to December.
Here in the locality for instance, we can pretty much count the houses with visible outdoor decors, or at least lights on their balconies or by the windows. I'm tempted to blame the economic conditions but perhaps, time just changed and people too.
Just as the husband and I used to enjoy putting up lights and holiday ornaments and gnomes in previous years but these recent times, we have not set up any Christmas tree nor decorations in both our houses. No reason in particular but from the time we stored the stuff in the attic, we sort of lost the interest in bringing them out again nor buying new ones. Laziness might also be a factor, I don't know, lol! Maybe things would be different if we have kids :)
Anyway back to the photos, they were just some captures during our side trip to the city. First one was during an afternoon walk along Session Road where we passed by Malcolm Square and there was an event going on. We managed to snap one photo of the Christmas tree cone there. I do wonder if it lights up at night, maybe it does.
Second capture was at the mall. The husband photographed it as we came in from the terrace. Nothing really grand but just a photo of one of many pillars adorned with red holiday balls and artificial Christmas wreathes. The same colors and decorative materials were also seen along the escalators. The next photo was just a glimpse of the mall at night. It was taken when the husband was on the way back from his last month's trip in Manila. And the next two were random shots, kinda :)
By the way, our family is having a pre-Christmas celebration today. My sister and her small clan came home last night to our parents so we'd be driving up there real soon too. It's a bit challenging when you have in-laws because you gotta spend time with both families on seasons like this and that's the reason why we are having it early so we can also spare some time with our other extended families over the next few days.
It wasn't really planned to be this early but it's good nonetheless. Christmas celebration doesn't have to happen on the 24th or 25th. And I'm quite excited 'coz there might be a couple of surprises coming especially for me, lol! Kidding aside, we've not bought any presents to be honest because we don't know exactly what to get so we opted for the easiest way, cash placed on white or red packets just like the Chinese way, lol! Which reminds me I'm yet to find bills crisp enough to fit the envelopes nicely, haha!
Ciao for now and cheers to you today and always!
